From Instagram link (above): Two years ago I transferred to Gonzaga University with three main goals: earn my college degree, improve my game and help Gonzaga reach its first ever Final Four. I’m proud to say all three of my goals were met. In the classroom, I earned my degree in Psychology and have begun work on my Masters. On the court, my teammates and I made school history winning 37 games, advanced to the Final Four, and played in the National Championship game. Coming to Gonzaga is the best decision I ever made.

What I was most surprised by this season was not the wins, awards, or recognition, but rather the genuine love I felt with our fans in Spokane. Since arriving, everywhere I went, I have been surrounded by love from the Gonzaga community. I cannot describe the incredible relationships I have formed in my time here and would not trade my experience for anything in the world. I could not be more grateful or humbled to call myself a Zag for life!
After many discussions with my coaches and family, I have decided to enter the 2017 NBA Draft with representation. I am 100% confident in this decision and believe I am prepared both mentally and physically to take this step in my career and my life. As always, I give all glory to God for granting me this opportunity. I will continue to represent the entire Gonzaga community to the best of my ability. To all my teammates, coaches, fans, supporters, and believers…I love you and thank you! Forever and always... #GoZags

So happy for NWG and his family. I wish the best for Nigel and expect that he will have a successful professional career. Selfishly I wanted him to come back but realistically thought this would be the decision he made. He has nothing left to prove (other than potentially winning the championship) and he has already lost a year due to transfer rules.

Go tear it up in the NBA.

Absolutely, he had nothing to gain by playing another year of college basketball....

he has every reason to be 100% sure of his decision....

I don't know if he will play much in the NBA but he can be set for life financially by playing in Europe or Asia....

just a outstanding young man and we were so blessed he came to Gonzaga....

in an early thread I asked, ''is nigel Williams goss the best guard Gonzaga has ever had?" rightly so there was no definitive agreement, but when I read his farewell statement (if I may call it such) and I can't help but think what an extra ordinary young man. he will accomplish extra ordinary things with basketball, with his college degree and with his life.

I'm all in as a fan of NWG, and of course thank him for his contribution to zag nation and our community, and of course wish him luck, and will enjoy tracking his starry path forward.

Oh no. ZN. It's like a going away party. First of all.....we love this Nigel kid and wish he could stay but his job is done .! What a great job he did for us.
Will he make to the NBA? I have some doubts but I hope he does. He's taken a tougher path than most. I did not know he's 23 and would be 24 if he waited. Time to go. He'll be among the greats kids we've had and probably the best overall PG we've had. I do believe that. I hope the NBA feels the same way. He knows how to win and will face a firing squad if the coach says. I don't know if he'll become a fixture in the NBA. They chose kids I wouldn't consider hiring. Nigel is one I would. He makes everyone better.

This kid will do great things in whatever life pursuits he tries. I think he'll catch on with a team in the NBA. If not, he can pursue a professional career overseas, see the world, and make a decent living playing a game he loves to play.

Whenever he hangs up the sneakers for good, he will enjoy success in whatever post-basketball career he chooses. He has a brilliant mind and excellent leadership skills. I suspect that he will find his way into the coaching ranks, but he may choose to do something that has nothing to do with sports.

Good luck to him. He will be a great ambassador for our school.

The guy's head is screwed on straighter than just about any college basketball player I can think of, you know he's making a well thought-out decision with much more information at his disposal than we do. He was on the court for one season and should be considered for the Mt Rushmore of Gonzaga basketball. That is amazing.

One way or another you know he's going to have a great life ahead of him, dude is just a winner. Best of luck to him, I hope he gets drafted in the first round and has a great career in the NBA.

Good move for NWG and this might be the best time in decades to do it. The NBA rosters are expanding to 17 players this coming year with the addition two "two-way" contracts per team. That is 60 new jobs in the NBA meant for borderline guys to help them develop in the D-League and practicing with the NBA club (think what Wiltjer is doing this year).

This might be the best year ever, for borderline guys to take their stab at the NBA. I said earlier that you'll see an unusually large set of underclassmen declaring this year and staying in the draft.

Not much to gain for either Collins or NWG by staying. I also believe the jury is still out on NWG on whether he is good enough for an extended career in the NBA. I am skeptical as the PG position is just so deep in the NBA. We'll likely see him in the D for the better part of next year. And I'm hoping much like KW he goes undrafted, land a two-way contract (or at least a partial guarantee) and find the right organization to develop him and give him a chance. Allot of things need to go right for him.

In case anyone is curious, agents are not allowed to take more than 3 percent of a player's total salary in the NBA. The same is the case for the NFL. For the NHL and MLB, there are no limits. Agents usually take between 10 percent to 20 percent of a player's endorsement contracts.
