I am so thankful for all of the people I've met through this forum over the years. I have made some TRULY wonderful friends because of the forum....you guys know who you are...

One of the posters that I am lucky to call a close friend, Justin (aka AzZag), happens to live in Phoenix. He'd been on me for weeks, trying to get me to plan a trip to the FF if our zags were lucky enough to make it. When it came down to it, it just wasn't in the cards for me, as Mrs. Woohoo and I are right in the middle of trying to move our family to Washington (The CITY of Washington, MO, unfortunately), and I just couldn't justify the trip. So anyways, the championship game was Monday night. On SUNDAY night at 11pm, I see my phone ringing (it was Justin). I was half asleep, and the wife was asleep, so I 'silenced' it. He calls again, I silence again (sorry buddy, haha). He texts me- "PLEASE ANSWER", and calls a 3rd time. I answer, haha. He tells me that he got a FREE ticket to the championship game, and he will pick me up at the airport in Phoenix, drop me back off at the airport when I need to leave, and that I can stay with him for free at his place while I'm down. HOW DO YOU TURN THAT DOWN?? So, I check flights, and they were surprisingly still reasonable! I woke up Mrs. Woohoo, and she so graciously gave me her blessing, and 10 minutes later, the flight was booked. Six hours later, I'm at the airport! Craziness. Anyways, here are some pics from the amazing trip!!!!

It was one of the most insane experiences of my life (It's amazing how many times I find myself saying that after a zags trip!!!)

Literally every time I looked up while walking through the arena, I saw another zag. They ALL had huge smiles on their faces, and they were all MORE than willing to snap a pic. Everyone was smiling, everyone was happy. It felt like a massive celebration (and it was).

Here's the first pic. Justin and I stepped out of his truck in the parking lot, and about 15 steps later, we run into these two.

Then as we're nearly inside the arena, I see Casey! It was funny because he had clearly started his celebration early  and when I asked him for a pic, he says "Aw sure! But I apologize in advance for not being very photogenic at the moment. haha.

Another reason I personally LOVE Heister...the guy loves the zags!!! Very pleasant person. Glad I ran into him.

Pargo, haha. After I snapped this picture, I took a few steps and a UNC fan stopped me and said, "NO WAY, was that Pango?" haha

Turiaf, the very first zag I ever met in person, and for very understandable reasons, the one who started my passion for Gonzaga!

Wilt! He had quite a crowd around him for quite some time.

Here's the view from my seat. It was just UNREAL how many people were there!! The energy was unlike anything I've ever experienced. A couple others have said this too, but that place was DEFINITELY pro-Gonzaga. Our fans showed up, and they were LOUD! Such a fun thing to experience.

I got to sit right next to one of my favorite family's ever. Great friends, great people.

Halftime of the game....Unfortunately...I apparently didn't pray hard enough.

Luckily, I got to stay an extra day in Phoenix, so AzZag took me on an awesome hike and showed me around a bit. It was beautiful, and everything about it was fantastic. I sure could get used to that weather.

Just a few notes in closing. I nearly always encounter a few bad-apple fans from opposing teams. But all of my experiences with UNC fans in Phoenix were good. They seemed to really respect Gonzaga. So that was nice. After the game, I even saw one UNC fans consoling some zags fans and telling them "Hey, you guys had an awesome season, and this team was so good". It was pretty cool to see.

And I won't get much into it, but I share the exact sentiments as everyone else. The refs blew goats. BUT, they blew goats pretty equally on both sides. Just sucks that they single-handedly controlled the flow of the game, and took some of our key players out. If Collins is in the game for the final few minutes, I truly believe we win. It hurt to be so close to winning it, and having SUCH a great opportunity (UNC really couldn't have shot any worse...), and not taking it. But, we will be back!!! I know that much.

I'm so happy that I'm a zags fan....I can't every imagine anything better.

GO ZAGS!!

You are right.. If Zack is guarding Hicks on that shot it made of JW3, it doesn't go... Period.

I had a similar story getting to the NC game. I fly standby as my wife is a flight attendant. She woke me up at 8:40 am on Sunday morning (I was out the night before celebrating the zags win with some buddies) and said that there was a 10:40 flight to Phoenix with 2 open seats. She called up my father in law and we packed -kind of - and made it to the gate just as they were boarding. Within two hours I was on a flight headed to Phoenix with tickets and a hotel (and a mild hangover).
