April 3, 2017

SAN BRUNO, Calif.—Junior right-hander Eli Morgan picked up his fourth Rawlings WCC Pitcher of the Week award Monday after a complete game and victory at Pepperdine April 1.

Against the Waves, the Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., native allowed just one run on three hits, striking out five. He went the distance for the third time this season, and he’s now seventh in the nation with 67 strikeouts. The Bulldogs beat the Waves 2-1 after a two-run home run in the eighth inning by Jake Vieth.

Morgan also moved into the top five among active Division I players with seven career complete games, and the win kept the junior unbeaten in conference play. He’s tallied a 11-0 record and a 1.10 ERA against WCC foes during the regular season throughout his career, allowing just 15 earned runs in 122.1 innings.

Gonzaga baseball is back in action today, Monday, April 3, at UC Santa Barbara. First pitch for that contest is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. in Santa Barbara, Calif.
