Here is a piece that I haven't seen on the board concerning our first international player. I suspect one of our board members is mentioned in this article as well. It was rumored around town that Jean Claude received blood transfusions either before games or at halftime to combat his anemia. That might very well be local legend however. Jean Claude was literally larger than life. It was cool as a neighborhood urchin to spot Lefebvre when he was out and about.

Ah, yes! Big Jean Claude Lefebvre..... one of the great all time zags. Love researching what he did for our program. Awesome guy too

Very interesting to read about Lefebvre and his "intersection" with Frank Burgess for one season. Thanks for the links, Birddog!

Saw him as a youngin in the Russell Theater. No AC, doors always open (sometimes in winter). Amazing size. Seems like a nice guy as I remember. Hank really was a promoter. Frank Burgess could play for this years team.
