Site has a video (http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/ncaab/final-four/2017/03/26/ncaa-final-four-college-basketball-ticket-prices/99668412/)of setting up the stadium for the final four.

The large void behind the baskets always seems to affect everyone's 3pt shooting %.

It looks even worse empty like that.

Pound the ball inside, all day.

It's my hope that the large spaces, especially at the ends, are filled with low risers. What I hate are those elevated floors!

It would seem that maybe Nigel would do well with the empty space. He DID play at UW!

That article brings up a point that might be more important than 3 pt shooting - FTs. And that would especially apply to us in this post season. For whatever reason, it seems we've had quite the drop in FT% during the tournament.

At least with a 3 ball it's catch/shoot, no time to really think. Standing at the FT line, you're just hangin' out for a few seconds, starting into the abyss. Perhaps that ought to be our worry - since we are obligated to worry all week - rather than 3 pt shooting.

Besides, SC seems build upon guarding that perimeter like Fort Knox, so we'll likely be quite focused on going down low anyway. The raised floor has to bother literally everyone. And is an injury waiting to happen.

Both teams have to make the adjustments. Darken everything but the court. Brain must make adjustments to sights, and especially sounds. You might be surprised at how much coordination hinges on hearing. It's just for the bigger crowds and bigger money. Perfect would be no more than 10000 person arena.

I had the opportunity to play at Key Arena, and anecdotally, I can tell you I couldn't shoot for #### after playing pick up regularly at the University of Utah student center. I was either airballing or banking everything.

Will they get shoot around time besides pregame?

It's actually a myth that shooting is worse in domes. TSN has done research on this year after year, and yet the myth continues. This are 2 articles I could pull up, but more have been published. The exception for many years was NRG Stadium in Houston, which seemed to have something about it that drew out the worst in shooters. They must have made adjustments because Villanova shot 58.3% in the final last year (57.1% from three) and UNC shot 42.9% from two (but 64.7% from three). In the semis, UNC shot 53.8% against Syracuse (23.5% from three) while 'Cuse shot 40.9% from the field (32% from three). Nova shot 71.4% from the floor (61.1% from 3), while OU shot 31.7% from the floor and 22.2% from three. OU just flat out sucked....it wouldn't have mattered if the two teams had played in a high school gym.

Those numbers are the kinds of numbers you would see if the game had been held in Key Arena.

I have three friends who have attended the final 4 and sat in the cheap seats....albeit near center court. All three had the time of their lives. One guy compared the dome gripers to music critics. They are the only ones who complain about the high ticket prices. The fans don't give a darn, and if they can't afford it, they just don't go, and other people will buy the tickets. If the next 60 final four teams shot 22% from three, the NCAA will still be holding the events in domes because 72,000+ want to go every year. Many people can't go because it gets sold out as it is. I would rather that the games be played in regular arenas, but it's just the way it is.
