I noticed this as well; Wiley had a monster year for the Eags! Jock Landale of the Gaels also on honorable mention list.

Slightly OT, but saw on the local news that Wiley has been invited to the Portsmouth tryout camp.

Has come a long way from his days @ tiny Newport HS.

I don't know if they still played in their old gym when you were at Colville, but when I played they did and that gym looked a whole lot like the old GU gym (Russell Theater on Boone Ave) except it had 4 steel support poles (to hold up the upper deck). Those 4 poles were about 4" to 6" in diameter and were situated 2 to 3 feet into the court from the sides and and about 1/2 way between the baseline and mid court. The Newport players used them as picks all night, it was crazy to play there and IIRC they were not padded.

bird you must be talking about the old old high school...was David Thompson Jr. High and housed 7th and 8th grade when 50 and I were youngings....had a balcony completely around it....

That's the one, they were using it for HS games as late as winter of 63/64, and maybe 64/65. What HS did you attend Blahla?
