:
LOS ANGELES — Lonzo Ball of UCLA, Josh Hart of Villanova, Frank Mason III of Kansas, Purdue’s Caleb Swanigan and Gonzaga’s Nigel Williams-Goss are the finalists for the John R. Wooden Award as college basketball’s player of the year.

The five have been invited to Los Angeles for the trophy presentation at the College Basketball Awards on April 7.

The 10-member Wooden Award All American team was announced Monday based on national fan voting from March 13-20, which included opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament. Besides those five, the other members are: Dillon Brooks of Oregon, Josh Jackson of Kansas, Justin Jackson of North Carolina, Duke’s Luke Kennard and Kentucky’s Malik Monk.

Brooks, Justin Jackson and Williams-Goss will play at the Final Four this weekend in Arizona.

Brooks, Justin Jackson and Williams-Goss will play at the Final Four this weekend in Arizona.

But they are not among the five finalists. They are members of the Wooden All American team

So, the voting takes into account play in the NCAA tournament? I guess so if it's given away a few days after the NC. I would suspect that NWG helped himself immensely in the game against Xavier. He controlled that game from tip to hugs.

That was a really nice article...

I feel Frank Mason will win the Wooden Award. He has had an outstanding season and is also a Senior, where as NWG is a Junior...just my opinion...

All alone I felt this was a great thing to happen for NWG. He's been the leader and point guard for Gonzaga's best team ever. His ability has had my attention all year. And now in the NCAA Tournament he has shown and proven his worth. He has led us to the Final Four which has been all of our dreams for years. This is a dream come true finally and he led us. That's a pretty big deal. People talk about Thornwell and how good he is. I'm putting my money on Nigel Williams-Goss.

Go Zags!!!
