Doubt it. The media was all over the "UNC is the best team in the nation" talk last week even though they weren't the overall #1 seed. Must have heard that mentioned 20+ times last week by various ESPN analysts. Sure they are talented but on the court results have to matter at some point.

Defense won this game! We need to follow suit!

If more and more of these teams keep stumbling back east, I would not be surprised to see Oregon get the one in Memphis (if they win the Pac 12) and GU to get the number one in the west.

Virginia gets 30 points on 10 3's, Guy with 5, Perrantes with 3. BYU gets 27 points on 9 3's, Haws with 5, Bryant and Emery with 2 each.

Pretty similar. Too many 3's and too many 3's from 1 guy !!! in each game. Other factors for sure, but you're not going to win many games letting 1 + players knock you out shooting 3's like that are you? Defense, please!

Many of BYU's 3's were from well outside the arc. It's hard to defend that far out and not be open to a drive and dish.

These are power conferences. Things are different for them! We saw that when Baylor beat Nova and it changed nothing!

Watch how Kansas runs the press & trap, and how they guard Oklahoma on the inbound plays. I'm not convinced we are capable of turning the table on our opponents like this.

One of Haws' was a cross over step back several feet off the line against Melson, of all people. As a Zag, I would be happy with that shot selection every time. But he drained it to cap three straight 3's in a row in the second half which helped close the gap. It was one of the nights...

I'm watching the Kansas-Oklahoma game and haven't seen a foul called in several minutes. This despite players clearly being close to each other, which I have been taught by WCC refs is a foul.

Zags are better coached than OK. They would have to play really well, but I think they can.

Kansas has been pushed to the limit by weak teams. If we play Kansas I like our chances

They really pressed OK, trapped the ball, and hit several open 3's in a row.

I thought they looked really good, but I think the Zags can inbound the ball, beat the trap by rotating, and remember when the shotclock has 17 sec after a timeout.

Made quite a bit of money on this one last night. UNC has been pathetic on the road all year. This L brings their road record to 7-5 with @Pittsburgh being their best road win of the season. Luckily for them their former AD always looks out for them when making the ACC schedule as they managed to avoid playing at FSU, Louisville, Syracuse, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech this year. Their only ACC road wins are Pitt, NC State, Wake Forest, Boston College and Clemson.

A long time ago, I came to realize that the best teams are in the top five conferences and that a road win in one of those conferences is very very difficult.....

I believe Knight's Indiana team was the last to go undefeated back in the 70's...so it doesn't bother me that they are rewarded with good seeds and are not severely punished for a loss....they have multiple opportunities for top 20 wins in conference..

They are given the benefit of the doubt, but teams like Gonzaga will always have their critics... it is what it is..

The good news (or if you prefer the bad news) is that Gonzaga has had about 20 opportunities to prove them wrong in the Tournament....... and will have another chance this year...

If it was up to me, I would play the best teams possible in the non conference....without any home and home requirement... even if we would lose every game it would better prepare the team to play the type of teams on the road..... that they will have to beat to advance in the Tournament....I see nothing gained by playing cupcakes in the Kennel ...

The zags are balanced and have NWG who will neutralize Mason SR. I bet Kansas will be an early exit in the tournament. They keep too many teams in the game.

Assuming of course.........

Absolutely. And as we have learned recently, we can't assume anything....although it is a major help to have BYU and SMC on the other side of the league tourney bracket.

Gonzaga has a MAJOR advantage in the frontcourt vs. Kansas. They have almost zero depth. The problem for Gonzaga is who would guard Josh Jackson.

The bottom line is that once you get to a certain stage in this year's tourney (in particular), you are going to have to beat really good teams.

Still, what do we do when down by 8 with 2 minutes to play? Can we impose our will defensively and start forcing turnovers off of made baskets like Kansas did to WVU and Oklahoma? Maybe our only hope is to have a lead in the final minutes.

in our LONE loss we couldnt make a bucket thus we could not impose our will in full court.........the only team I know of that is fluid and skilled in pressing off a missed basket is WVU but that is in their DNA and takes religous practice to do it right and not give up a layup

generally we do not go 4 minutes without a bucket....in this event we did and missed many easy open looks which was highly unusual for the team after 30 games

And pray that Tillie is healthy. Hate to say it, but the FT shooting of Shem and J3 are major liabilities in crunch time.
