View Full Version : Spread on tonight's game is -24; how much would you bet?

The Zags are favored by 24 points in tonight't game. That means if you bet one the Zags minus the points, they must win by more than 24 for your bet to win.

I'm near a sportsbook and considering putting down a big bet. I normally don't play more than $100 a game.

How much would you bet on tonight't game? $1,000?

I'd give up the points and bet the farm (Full disclosure: My "farm" is only 1.5 acres, actually it's just a big garden.)

Interesting. I think the Zags cover.

Based on their record so far against the spread, I agree with your assessment.

I'd bet the farm on us too.

I personally never bet on teams I root for but I would highly suggest not betting on the game at all with that line. Even though we tend to win by 20+ in league games it is a road league game before the all important Senior Night in Spokane. If I bet the game, I would take the points and San Diego to be honest even though I think we could win by 30+.

I'm not a gambler. I never saw the point of giving my money away. On the other hand, if I could, I might plunk down a couple of small ones on the Zags for that spread.

They've been doing great this year ATS, but I don't think they do tonight.

Tossup whether they cover 24 or not. Vegas always gets half the money on either side and collects their 10%. You might get lucky, but it doesn't look like a particularly great bet to me.

Tonight's game is a mortal lock, bet the house, bet the farm, call your neighbors and talk them into betting with you, type of game. If I were in Vegas, I would put all of the gambling and drinking money that I brought along with me on it, as well as hit the atm to get even more to put on it. In other words, the Zags will win by 23.

Are you serious? These are 18 to 23 year old kids. In San Diego. At the beach. Seventy degrees and sunny. Could get stung by a jellyfish. Distracted by a bikini. Eat too many hotdogs. If you are still close to the Sportsbook, RUN!!!!

My guess? Zags win by somewhere between 20 and 28 points.

Just so you know, they build those fancy buildings with all the lights with your money.

Distracted by a bikini? Who's wearing a bikini in 60 degree weather? OTOH, it's 87 today in North Texas...I love global warming!

Zags are 7 - 1 - 1 ATS in road games.

Since their debacle against SMC, USD has: Lost by 3, Lost by 5, Lost by 12, and won by 2 ( @ Santa Clara ). They have shown improvement. The game is sold out, it's their "Super Bowl," and USD will put up a gritty efffort.

Current line is Zags -23.5.

No way I bet the farm or even a Benjamin on GU in a relatively meaningless game where their objective is get a W and get back to Spokane with no injuries.

My son went to UC San Diego. La Jolla. 60 degrees didn't stop the bikini parade. My wife kept close tabs on me when we visited.

They may say 60 ...but 15 mph winds and feels like mountains at the beach.

I was trying to make a lunch bet with a coworker on this game tonight. I told her I would give her 30. She said I needed to give her 35. I did not do the bet. 24 points is a gift in my opinion.

There is also an option to bet on the Zags just to win, no point spread, it is called the moneyline. However the odds are terrible. The line is -13500, meaning to win $100 you must bet $13,500.

Great game to bet on! I had to laugh at those saying "don't bet the Zags" and then "well, what do I know?" Because that's just how it goes. You have to get lucky to win a sports bet. I've lost a lot of them! College basketball is tricky, NBA is difficult, and MLB regular season is impossible! But I like putting money on games.

To the poster who asked what I won, the odds were -110. I bet 400 and won 363.

Road games are tough. I know we won 58 or whatever, but I've been burned on a lot of road games with tempting lines. Last zag game I've bet ATS was pacific two or three years back and some dude from pacific hit a three at the buzzer for a bad beat. Think the spread was 11, we were up by 13. Only moneyline on the zags from there on out, that way I don't feel bad about the win

USD beat BYU.

Ponder the Zoob suckage for a moment.

Time to kick BYU out of the conference.

Consider that before BYU was added, in their stead, GU was scheduling vastly superior teams in their non conference schedule.
