I heard a bit of bubble talk from Lunardi last night. Several Power 5 teams w/ conference records around 4-10 are considered on the bubble. That seems crazy. Must be a REALLY soft bubble this year. He did state that he didn't think teams w/ records like that SHOULD get in, but using whatever metrics he uses he thinks they are still in consideration. Almost the entire ACC is still in the running, including mediocre at best teams like Clemson, Pitt and Georgia Tech. In the end they might have to "settle" for only 10 or 11 teams getting in.

Saw that last night too, cat.

4-10 Clemson.

Why even bother with the charade? Put 'em all in.

Baylor just isn't good. Please put them as the 2 in our region.
(I know that won't happen...but maaan)

Florida is taking care of South Carolina, up 80-66 w/ a bit under 2 minutes left.

81-66 Florida over S. Carolina. Apparently only 1 point scored combined over the last 2 minutes.

Clemson lost to VA Tech and Georgia Tech is on the verge of losing to NC State. Bubblicious ACC teams not helping themselves tonight.

It blows my mind that Clemson is an at large team right now.

Kentucky in a tight one with Missouri of all teams... trying to decide if I want kentucky to lose or not.. I could see the committee giving us the Witchita State treatment and putting Kentucky in our bracket if they drop too far.

Iowa knocks off Indiana in OT. Both are 15 - 13. Hoosiers 5 - 10 in conference, Hawkeyes 7 - 8. Starting to look like Michigan State and Indiana could end up as NIT teams.

Northwestern loses @ Illinois.

Wichita State notches 26th win. ( I wouldn't be shocked to see them in GU's region. Committee has a habit of doing that kind of thing. . .put two really good mid-major conference teams in the same part of the bracket )

Dayton wins. Marquette moves to 17-10 after defeating SJU.

With Power 5 conference bubble teams stumbling all over themselves, does that mean SMC can breathe a little easier?

Don't think they had anything to worry about anyway

Colorado state vs New Mexico at the put is extremely physical and entertaining

RE SMC, I say the opposite. A bunch of middling Big 5 teams all packed together doesn't help SMC one bit.

Maybe not. But it's not like last year IMO. These middling BCS conference bubble teams aren't middling. They're worse. They're 6-7 games under .500 in conference. I def would agree if they were middling. I guess we willl find out for sure soon, though

Bowling Green massacre? Might be fake news. Sorry. It's late.

They're not. I mean in the committee's eyes they are because the committee is terrible, but Clemson is nowhere near being a tourney team. It's stuff like this which is why I was starting to worry about SMC making the tournament (though I do feel a little bit better about their chances now, but I still don't think it's a guarantee). Getting your RPI inflated losing to Duke, UNC etc does not make you a good team. The ACC is so overrated this year. It has 3 top end teams, that's it. Duke, UNC and Louisville. Miami, Florida St, Virginia, Notre Dame etc are not nearly as good as all the homers try to say they are. The ACC shouldn't have more than 8 teams in the tourney. Pitt, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, these are not tourney teams.

I just had an epiphany. We always complain that the selection committee is terrible, and they are. But it they were awesome then the result is that the NCAA tournament wouldn't have upsets. They'd just pick and seed correctly. So yeah, I guess I'd prefer them to be a little terrible. I love watching middling power 5 teams lose.

Upsets are always going to happen. When a 15 or 14 seed wins a 1st round game, that's not because of poor seeding by the committee. Just a team rising up and playing over it's head. Sometimes they can even do it for 2 games.

1986: #14 Cleveland State beat #3 Indiana and then won its second round game vs. # 6 St. Joseph's
1997: #14 Tenn- Chattanooga beat # 3 Georgia and then won its second round game against #6 Illinois.
2013: #15 Florida Gulf Coast beat # 2 Georgetown and became the first ( and only ) 15 seed to win a second round game by knocking off San Diego State.
