Saturday's "Top 16" reveal had West Virginia in the West region with GU. Their match-up tonight @ Kansas might make for some entertaining hoops.

Louisville leading Syracuse

Texas Tech 17, Baylor 6

Kansas didn't handle WVU's press very well the first go around........

Texas Tech vs. Baylor is a possible upset alert. The Red Raiders really should've beaten Kansas this weekend. They outplayed them, but by doing so, they may have used up too much energy to beat Baylor. We'll see.

Andy Katz pointed out Saturday night that he thinks Villanova is going to win out because of the injury situation in the Big East. There are so many teams with so many injuries that the Big East is a shadow of its former self. They will likely be the number one overall seed on Selection Sunday.

Nor did they do well against VCUs press. We will see what happens tonight

Villanova is a bit dinged up too. I think they normally play a 7 man rotation but they were down to 6 this weekend. They might win out because they're just better than the other Big East teams. The other teams have been beating each other up and Creighton/Butler/Xavier have all slipped quite a bit as the season has worn on.

WVU all over Kansas to start 12-2. If KU and Baylor BOTH lose tonight, somebody HAS to be sliding out of a #1 seed I would have to think. ACC team should be ready to slide up.

Man. Their OOC schedule is nice, but they're just another team since conference play started. 9-4 w/ losses to questionable teams like Kansas St. and Texas Tech. At what point do bad conference losses have any effect on them? They're lucky that "last 10 games" criteria was thrown out by the committee several years ago.

Not watching, but guessing that WVU guards are pressing K's guards hard. Pressure, pressure, and more pressure.
Worry some about how Zag's would handle it.

He's a smart alec, but he doesn't bother me. Pat Summit was the coach I had a hard time w/, she had the persona of a badger having a bad day on the sideline. He's also undoubtedly a phenomenal coach.

So...a WVU team that likes to press their opponents cannot handle being pressed themselves. Turned it over, now KU shooting FT to try to tie it.

Love it. Good jab. Ok, so did Huggins step out for some donuts? No coaching at all. As well, why did Self call off the press after they tied it? The choking dogs wouldn't have gotten it Over the end line, a la butler v zags.

They should never ever schedule a SWAC team again. Seems like they do every year

In recent memory we've scheduled

Southern
MS Valley State
Texas Southern

They've all killed our RPI and ratings

Wow. That WVA choke was painful to watch. They owned KS most of the game, then they just gave it away. That choke could be very hard for the team to recover from mentally. Hard to watch. It's like standing on the tee box with someone who has the shanks. You know it isn't contagious, but you can hardly bring yourself watch that swing.

Isn't it amazing how Gonzaga gets so lambasted for playing in a weak conference, to the point where a loss to a top 20 team would probably have probably dropped them to a 2 seed, yet a team like Baylor gets forgiven for multiple losses to weak teams in conference, just because "the conference is so tough."

They would never burn a good front porch couch, might catch the porch and the fridge on fire. Those couch fires are for the ones in the yard.
