Zags ride the Waves and cruise to an easy 96 - 49 win at Firestone Fieldhouse. The starters and the primary rotation looked sharp ( save the three point shooting ) and gave way to the bench.

Zags averaged 1.263 pts per possession. 62 points in the paint, 46 bench points.

11 players scored and the team matches the longest winning streak in school history, 22.

Who gets the gold star tonight as the player of the game ?

Went with Shem, he got us going, and never let up. I love it when he's finishing the fast break.

I could have gone with Karno, Collins, or Melson pretty easily but went with Williams-Goss.

NWG or Karnowski. Flip a coin. Both of them make things happen when they are in the floor.

Melson. 5-6 shooting 3-3 from three line. 15 points 3 rebounds

Shuts down WCC leading scorer

Karno, scoring, passing, defense. The Zag's play great because they play around Karno. Collins continues to impress. I like seeing them both on the floor at the same time. Bet we see more of that as season progresses.

NWG with a tip of the hat to Karno & Collins.

Boy, this was the toughest game of the season to choose an MVP for the Zags. But I went with Hoopaholic (and my heart!) in voting for Melson. Great game for the young man!

Went with Silas... he really played with a fire in his belly tonight. Shem would be #2

Goss with a tip of the hat to Melson.

The WCC leading scorer disappeared from the face of the earth.

I believe Goss and Melson were the primary defenders.

Lots of the guys played very very well. Quietly though, Silas was thee major contributor. He really had a nice game. He's coming along very nicely. Becoming consistent.

Went with Melson also. Brought great energy, shot the eyes out of it. Worked hard on D. So great to have a player like Silas coming off the bench!

I voted for Collins, just because he's had a string of really solid games lately, and I think he finally deserves to get my vote.

Had to go with Karno - great offense, great passing. But loved what Melson brought to the game also.

I didn't realize Hoopaholic was an option. I missed his line in the box score.

Picked NWG on stats alone. The balance on this team is awesome. I think a case could be easily made for Williams, even. Solid contribution, kept plays alive. Great effort across the board.

Dang, picking GUnit sure isn't getting any easier. I sure like the year Karnowski is having - especially considering last year. Melson just keeps getting better. NWG is awesome. What's a fan to do! :) ..... I just can't pick one Zag any more.

I wanted to give Melson the nod for a great defensive performance, and Goss for once again surgically carving up another team's defense, but I had to go with Karno. Throw the ball into Karno and he protects the ball without getting hurried or flustered, no matter how many bodies they throw at him. He deliberately, methodically backs his man down to score or finds an open man for wide open shot. There are several bigs that can out run, out jump, out rebound, or out score him, but nobody anchors the center and an offense and a defense quite like he does. He's a rock, and a constant, steadying influence. No other team can duplicate what he brings.

The more players getting votes the better. 3 in double digits. This spells TEAM!

Over the last 14 games, dating back to UW on 12/7, Melson has made 23 of 47 3's, good for almost 49%. Can't sag off him anymore.

7 players get votes. I think that says something VERY SPECIAL!
