Nobody panics. (Except us yahoos). They really don't. I think 4 or 5 guys took it to the lane, dribbled, looked - made a key pass or hit the shot. Mucho precision.

When did he say that? I watched Andy Katz ask him what our "Achilles Heal" was and his answer was, "I don't know if they have one, maybe it's that they're not the most athletic team in the country and a team like Kentucky or UCLA would try and get in a track meet with them, but we don't know for sure if they have an "Achilles Heal".

Never heard of Dalen Cuff before tonight.. doesnt think we are the # 1 team in the nation, but that we should be. Thinks KU is a better team. I disagree.

Jordan Mathews has to start shooting better though or we wont make the final four again this year. 7-27 in his last 5 and is missing some wide open 3's

Been on the bandwagon for twenty years and I've seen some great Gonzaga teams throughout. This year's iteration is as dominant as I've ever seen.

And like Mick said it's not really all that close.

That's the truly special part b/c there've been so many good ones, even recently.

Along with the obvious maturity and sense of mission, this one is just physically bigger/stronger/faster than the others. Quite the combo.

I can't wait for Thursday night. This team is ready for a test, even though I think the environment is going to be more of a test than the team they will be facing. I would love to see GU go into the Marriott Center and really take it to BYU.

If we're counting on his shooting to get us to the promised land, we'll wander in the desert instead. I wish more of his minutes were utilized by Melson.

Really chucked em up last night. Few seems unfazed though. Not many in the past got the leash as long as JM seems to have.

:explode:

Assuming the premise, where did being athletic and being able to run get Kentucky last night?

I don't agree with the premise. The Zags have pushed the ball and have essentially had fast breaks off of made baskets this year. Dalen Cuff obviously didn't see Karnowski vs the Huskies this year :]

So far, defensive rebounding. But they've cleaned that up a bit.

Hasn't been tested since Arizona.

Not for an entire game, that is...

Tennessee did get within 9 pts. Iowa St came back from 19 down & made it interesting. SMC held the lead til around 5, but our defense overwhelmed them, as it has most teams.

I wish we could be tested for two halves, but it just hasn't happened.

Florida jumping out to a 10 pt lead was the only time we have trailed all season.

At this point, & with our Top 10 defense, there are only a few teams who could beat us...after 40 mins of bball.

If a team pulled a Wichita St & hit 15 3's again, but that won't happen with our current scheme.

Honestly, the teams with unstoppable or dynamic guard penetration.

Arizona is a great example. Trier, Rawls, & Simmons are 3 of the very best guards in their class & in college hoops at getting to the rim.

That is precisely tbe type of team who could best us. Put pressure on our bigs & blow past our guys. Arizona showed glimpses of this, & having Trier is more dangerous, not to mention the growth of their young guns. Do NOT want to see them again. Would MUCH rather play UCLA in Elite 8, even Oregon.

Kansas has strong, aggressive guard play, so does Nova.

Outside those 3, Zags go man to man with any team, esp defensively.

No longer am I nervous about a rangy, athletic, 4 man, because we got J3 now. Or slashing 6'7" SF, because Jordan Mathews is a gritty, uber smart defender -- also, our helo defense underneath is solid.

Its the teams with super aggressive guards who can finish at the rim. Florida also showed glimpses, yet not the best finishers at the hoop.

Arizona, Kansas, Nova.

UNC is terrifically athletic all around, & have a tremendous PG, but they are surprisingly more jump shooting team.

We have a really good, savvy defense. We have a couple Gary Bell Jr's on this squad and don't even notice it. NWG is near lock down, Mathews is excellent at predicting & forcing his opponent to spots, Perkins is scrappy & non stop active with his hands, Silas slides his feet better than any defender we've had, etc. JW3 is rock solid, Karno is great one on one (horrible on perimeter). Collins makes a ton of mistakes but protects the rim & very good help defender. Tillie can defend 4 positions, & know where the ball will be.

Its our defense, success in transition leading this undefeated streak. And what will carry us in post season.

Only a handful of teams can beat these guys.

Injuries withstanding.

Don't worry about that. Read on the BYU board late last night that their biggest problem Thurs. will be the zebras protecting the WCC darlings.
