Kansas at Iowa State is huge for GU. It would be a big upset, but not a huge shock for Iowa state to win.

KenPom has the Cyclones losing by 2, 78-76. They've got a puncher's chance.

Student's; step up!

A Cyclone win over KU would most likely move them into Top 25 poll (assuming they take care of Oklahoma this coming Saturday). Currently, by votes received, they come in at 32nd.

Scary moment for Creighton's Maurice Watson Jr., who was carried off the court with a left leg injury. Trainers icing his left knee now. He's in a lot of pain. Would be huge loss for the Bluejays.

Maurice Watson down again after re-entering the game. Holding his left knee. Screaming in pain. Bad news.

Creighton wins, 72 - 67. Blue Jays now 18 - 1. If Watson, Jr. is done for the year, their prospects will dim considerably.

I sure hope so.

Here's hoping for some Hilton Magic (Hilton Coliseum is Iowa State's home court). They have given the Jayhawks a lot of trouble at home over the years. Its genuinely one of the toughest arenas in the nation to win at.

And yes, I am sure despite the fact that the shot went off after the clock hit zero and the backboard lit up, someone at ESPN tonight will say that the Cyclones almost beat the Zags at the buzzer with a 3 pointer.

OK, OK, you two called me on it; News Flash......A skeleton was found this morning in a dormitory on the Iowa State University Campus. Authorities have announced that it appears to be the winner of the dormitory's 1963 hide and seek contest.

Don't blame me. Iowa jokes pretty much come out of Minnesota and South Dakota.

Hear about the Iowa State student who stayed up all night so he wouldn't miss the sun rise? It finally dawned on him.

Hope the Cyclone's are better than these jokes!

Villanova destroyed Seton Hall. North Carolina handled Syracuse fairly easily. Roy w/ career win #800. In another thread there was a question about whether Michigan St. would make the Tourney this year. They don't have as long of a streak going, but Syracuse would take a miracle to make it in the field this year.

Who on earth has a favorite Iowa State joke?

Not me. But I do have a Tennessee joke:

Why do Tennessee fans wear orange? So they can dress for the game on Saturday, go hunting on Sunday, and pick up trash on Monday.

Wouldn't be the first time a Final Four Team didn't make the field of 68 the following year. . .Kentucky won it all in 2012 and didn't make the field in 2013. It happens.

I would give Izzo a better chance because I think he's a better coach. His Big Ten schedule might not be as tough a hill climb as Boeheim's path in the ACC. So much can happen between now and mid-February. . .

When Burton started jacking up shots like Nick Emery, I thought they were doomed. Kansas w/ 4 guys in double figures, 41-20 rebounding edge, shooting 54% from the field.

Jayhawks committed 18 TO's so far. . .

One possession game. . .26 seconds remaining, KU has to inbound the ball coming out of a TO.

Kansas makes it out alive, 76 - 72.

Possible that ISU gained some respect coming within a possession or so of beating #2 Kansas. Not as much as a road game, but not a showing to be ashamed of, for sure. Do they move up in RPI?

I hear you, thought the same thing. Burton is very effective getting to the rack, quick and athletic for his size. Cyclones have other 3-pt options. A couple of quick 3-pt jacks by Burton resulted in empty possessions. In a tight game, this matters alot.

Roy Williams picked up his 800th win against Syracuse. What's the over/under on the number that he'll have to give back whenever the NCAA finally does something about the UNC academic scandals? I'm guessing zero.

Speaking of which, when is this academic scandal investigation at UNC going to end? Maybe sometime before I am put in a coffin? The thing has been going on for ages. I suppose they need to dot every "I" and cross every "T" because the penalties, whatever they are, will not be kind. The football team is going to get hammered.

Few might have had a few more wins if his players weren't burdened with going to class.

CDC, the question may be, does the investigation end before the NFL's investigation of Ezekiel Elliott? That's been a head scratcher too.

The academic issues at UNC go back well before Roy. Are they going to take victories away from dead legend Dean Smith? I have a hard time seeing that happen.
