Just my opinion and not attacking anyone, just don't see how SMC can really be above Gonzaga with the two resumes that both teams have right now

Based on the on-court results so far:

1. Gonzaga - Most impressive collection of wins so far.
2. UCLA - Big win but only one so far...could leapfrog us later.
3. SMC - Weak weak schedule
4. Arizona - team has been tested and shown well.
5. Oregon - the hype has not produced. Biggest flop in the country so far.

Order varies, but unanimous on the 5 teams. Can't disagree, can't think of anyone else that should be one of the 5. Maybe Utah or Cal would be next? San Diego St. flopping so far.

Seriously? No way on BYU. They just lost to USC, so you have to put USC ahead of them. Not sure I'd put Stanford ahead of other Pac 12 teams like USC, Cal or Utah. BYU is 5-3. Utah Valley should maybe be ahead of BYU since they hung 114 points on them and beat them by double digits.

How about west of the Hudson? Apologies to Steinberg.

That's exactly how I feel about BYU. No doubt they'll play tough against the Zags like they always do, but overall that's a team that's going nowhere in particular this year.

USC has some really athletic guards/wings that can shoot. They trailed off late in the year but made some noise in the Pac 12 last year and should be in the thick of things this year too.

Oregon just getting Brooks back. Different team w/ him. Zona/Oregon a tossup at the moment imo; Kenpom has UO ahead of Zona.

Arizona will rock Oregon in Pac-12 play.

Book it.

Oregon has terrific guards, Arizona does as well. Wildcats bigs are much better.

The moment Zona gets healthy, not even close this season...

Arizona lost to a Top-20 Butler squad in last second possession, then dominated by Top-10 Gonzaga, while not healthy...

Guarantee Arizona blows out Oregon. UCLA...well...they are balanced, bigs, guards, and shooters. They might be on another level.

Teamrankings.com gives UCLA a 43% chance at the pac 12 title, Oregon 18%, Zona 12%. Ducks swept them last year, once in Tucson, once in LA. No home game. This time Ducks are at home. Not sure why anyone would suggest they'd "rock" them this time.

Did you know Oregon leads the nation in blocks per game at 9? Or that they're 13 in defensive fg% at 36.5, as well as 13 in rebound margin at 10+. Like Az, their offense has been mediocre so far, but they have a history of improving that as the season goes on.

Respectfully, i think you are out of your mind. "guarantee arizona blows out oregon"??? What game were you watching last night? They didnt impress me much at all. JPC is a decent player. Trier is very good. But Oregon has Dorsey, Brooks, Bell, Boucher, Ennis.. I think it would be a close one with Oregon winning but no way AZ blows them out.

Meh. Oregon did not look good the last time I watched part of a game they were in, this season. Arizona can at least put up a decent half court set. Brooks back for Oregon, Trier for AZ changes things...but Oregon isn't head and shoulders better than Arizona.

It used to be that west was 'of Boston or New York". Then Ohio became the west.

I don't see how anybody can call them 'west' anymore.

I go by time zones.

And I agree with Coach Crazy:

1. Gonzaga
2. UCLA
3. Arizona
4. Oregon
5. Don't care. SMC hasn't proven anything.

For some reason i think Arizona is going to be a legit team with trier (sp?) and PJC coming back. They didn't shoot deep too well against Gonzaga but I think they'll be a much better team in February than they are now

Where they are now is perhaps quite different than where they will be come March. Zags ceiling really high and they will indeed develop to a higher level.

Vegas insider's current NCAA championship odds:

UCLA 10/1
Oregon 20/1
Gonzaga 25/1
Arizona 50/1
St Mary's 60/1

UCLA started the season at 80/1

Oregon - When they get healthy.
UCLA - Watched the Kentucky game and they were impressive.
Gonzaga
Arizona - Pac 12 will be fun to watch. Like the WCC, big 3 and everyone else.
SMC - Here's an idea. Travel early and often then use the proceeds toward a new gym.

disagree about the Pac 12, that's really shortchanging some schools like Cal, USC, Utah and maybe somebody else that will have a chance to be in the race
