Zags weekend in OKC -- attending Domantas Sabonis' Thunder game vs. Phoenix tonight, scrimmaging with Baylor tomorrow.

Kudos to GU Athletics for organizing this secret scrimmage vs Baylor in OKC and arranging for the squad to attend Thunder game on eve of their scrimmage. Brilliant on so many levels: current players get an inside view of where several aspire to be professionally; Domantas gets some TLC from his friends and former teammates during what must be a head spinning time of transition for him; and, most importantly, this Zags squad full of new faces and in need of gelling asap for all important early season games gets a road trip together and opportunity to compete against a solid opponent and program (and break from competing vs one another).

Brilliant move Zags. Wondering what gym the scrimmage will be played in. OKC Thunder facility!? If so, even more brilliant. Ten bucks says other D-1 programs copycat this kind of arrangement for their 'secret scrimmages' to allow current team to rub up against a former teammate now playing in NBA. Nice.

Just got out of the Thunder game. Wish I knew where scrimmage was going on tomorrow. Didn't know beforehand that Coach Few & Zags would be there. Crazy game & night. It is a treat to have Sabonis here.
