Well, there is one less rotation guy.

Bummer. Well there's the first answer to the "who will redshirt?" question. I seem to gather from snippets that he's been injury prone. Hopefully he can come back from this and be healthy down the road at GU.

Scary. That name could have been anyone's.

ugh. really really crappy news ... even if he wasn't going to crack the rotation this year, a year building muscle and learning the system in practice would have been huge.

Prayers that he heals up and had not additional issues.

Darn. Just heard recently he was a baller with underrated strength & footwork.

Must have been pretty serious to announce so quickly.

Gotta wonder if its the same knee he's had trouble with the past year. He hasnt played much due to nagging pain & inflammation in one of his knees.

Possibly a partial tear that was undetected before major injury or just a fluke/freak unrelated accident.

Either way, speedy recovery.

Hope he heals quickly & decides to return.

Doesn't sound like it. This is from Jim Meehan's story (http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2016/oct/07/gu-freshman-jacob-larsen-out-for-season-with-knee-/):

Larsen, one of five members of Gonzaga’s recruiting class that was ranked in the top 20 by several scouting services, was slowed by knee injuries earlier in his career but his latest injury is apparently unrelated.

The young man sounds like a player. I hope the time off let's his body heal so he can play at the top of his game.

They did not say, but I am assuming that it may be an ACL injury, since those seem to be the most common knee injuries. If that is the case, they will have to wait for swelling to go down and then do imaging to see what needs fixing. Surgery in a couple of weeks followed by 9 months of rehab. I remember QB Mark Brunell from UW was an absolute maniac in his rehab and cut that down a bit.

Off crutches in a couple of months.

So, if all goes well Larsen can be ready to start practice by late summer of 2017.

get well and do not push it unless it is ready. We all look forward to seeing you as soon as possible.

It was nice that they introduced him at Kraziness. He was the first and came out on crutches out of the tunnel and went right to the bench. The others came down the stairs through the student section.

really a bummer.

Larsen was recruited heavily by Maryland, Marquette, a couple Big East schools, etc.

He also was Tournament MVP, not once, but twice...averaged a double double in both occasions.

Was widely spoken about he was rising up the depth chart and surpassing Edwards to back-up Karnowski at (5) position.
