That's what I hear. Anyone know why? Did he not make the cut? Is he injured? Did he even try out?

Old...not very good. I believe he wasn't invited/considered by the coach.

He was mentioned as a possible replacement for Varejao last week when it was announced he couldn't play (injury) but they went with Cristiano Felício (Bulls/Canton Charge, D-League). Felicio will cause more trouble for the opponents than current Varejao or Batisita would. Young tough and pretty athletic center who can move. Varejao/Batista are not a game changers anyway.

Here is Brazil's roster:
14-player roster named:

Marcelinho Huertas (LA Lakers)
Raul Neto (Utah Jazz)
Rafa Luz (Flamengo)
Larry Taylor (Mogi das Cruzes)
Leandrinho Barbosa (Golden State Warriors)
Vitor Benite (UCAM Murcia)
Marquinhos Vieira (Flamengo)
Alex Garcia (Bauru)
Cristiano Felício (Bulls/Canton Charge, D-League)
Nene Hilario (Washington Wizards)
Augusto Lima (Real Madrid)
Vitor Faverani (UCAM Murcia)
Guilherme Giovannoni (Brasilia)
Rafa Hettsheimeier (Bauru)

Splitter is hurt, same with Varejao. A couple of the young Raptors wernt invited either (Bruno Caboclo, Lucas Nogueira). Keep in mind they are building a team, not just throwing ever big name on the roster.

EDIT: Brazil cut it down to 12, with Larry Taylor, the choice of the coach, and the Victor Faverani through injury released..
