    When will it stop...

It seems every time the Zags face a Big East team... all you hear is "They can't handle the physicality of the Big East."

Umm... hopefully tonight they'll start to realize... yeah... the Zags can, and they do it better.

It's not a Gonzaga/Big East thing. It's an east coast/west coast thing. Most people from the east coast think people, particularly athletes from the West are soft. 50/50 game I always go with a west coast team because they have a chip on their shoulder and are underestimated

The perception that Gonzaga is a soft team has been around for years, but I don't really understand why. Gonzaga has never been a soft team. But, if people want to believe it, let the misconception persist. It does nothing but help Gonzaga and makes the wins all the sweeter.

The Big East is a mere shadow of what it once was.

Louisville, Syracuse, UConn, Notre Dame, etc.

There is no freaking way that this Seton Hall team would have won the pre 2013 Big East tournament.

Up until several years ago, our reputation for defense wasn't very good. We've really kicked it up several notches to where our defense is pretty damn good. Sure, we gave up too many offensive boards last night, but we had a lot of key stops during the second half, when they were on the verge of turning it into a two possession game.

+1 The Big East today is similar to the high flying A-10 (Atlantic 10, not Warthog) of a number of years back than anything.

The announcers had only one page on their script. 5 paragraphs about how good Whitehead was and 1 sentence saying GU likes to play through their bigs.

NY papers coverage sucked, it was all about Whitehead having an off night. We saw why EMac was WCC Defensive Player of the Year.

I don't know what it is with Gonzaga. Every team we beat along with their top scorer seem to have an off night when they play GU. The coincidence is incredible. I guess it is just lucky. Can't explain it any other way...

Our free throw defense last night was HOF worthy.

Our huge rebounding margin was aided by their struggles at the FT line. I'm not complaining, though.

I wonder how hard they work on that in practice.

Honestly? Think floppy hair, guys shooting 3's, the WCC.. that's where it comes from. Not saying it's true. But that's what people see and they make a judgment call on that.
