Derek has almost caught A.J. Graves of Butler for the lead in free throw percentage. Their stats are almost identical:

A.J. Graves, Butler 111 / 115 96.5%

Derek Ravio, Gonzaga 111 / 116 95.7%

GU's team free throw shooting percentage has dropped to 76.2% and they have dropped from 2nd to 6th in the country.

One last stat:

GU is 18th in the country in three point shooting percentage at 39.9%

(That's a bit of a surprise, I don't think many people think of Gonzaga as a particularly good three point shooting team).

to think that they've missed only 4 and 5 ft's respectively.

Anyone know what the record is for a season.

Blake Ahearn of Missouri State set the NCAA Div 1 record for single season free throw percentage three years ago as a freshman

Ahearn shot 117 / 120 for 97.5% in 2003-04

He is a senior this year and is fourth in the country at 93.8% (90 / 96)

Raivio's free throws look like they take about as much effort as it takes me to breathe. I can't even begin to imagine how many he's taken in his life.

good stats. Let's hope Derek can work on driving a bit more to get to the line. It'll be tough against a much taller Memphis club but he's automatic at the line and we could use anything that is automatic at this point.

Blake Ahearn has led the NCAA in FT% for 3 straight years (maybe a record, don't recall) and was trying to do it for all 4 years (would be a record), but he had the nerve to miss 6 FT this year and probably won't catch all 3 of the guys in front of him...

Unless he goes 0-50 or something to end the year, I'm pretty sure he'll have the NCAA career FT% record when he's done this year. Pretty amazing work.

Graves went 2-3 from the line in Butler's loss to So. Illinois. That makes Graves 113/118. Raivio went 4-4 to improve to 115-120. So looks like DR took the lead today. Congrats, and keep up the good work!

D Rav still trails Ryan Toolson of Utah Valley St. (86-89; 96.6).

Derek Ravio 115 / 120 95.83 %

A.J. Grave (Butler) 113 / 118 95.76 %

Sittingon50 - the official NCAA website doesn't list Ryan Toolson in their stats, but I checked the Utah Valley State website and you are indeed correct, he is shooting 86 / 89 96.6 %

Which website lists him as leading the country in free throw shooting percentage?

Check the NCAA site... there may be a minimum attempts for their stats.
