I dont care what anyone says... I LOVE watching Mussini play ball. Way undersized and needs to put on some muscle, but the guy is the Italian Steph Curry at this age. He plays much like him, and while i dont expect him to be an NBA MVP, i do expect by the time he is a senior that the guy will be averaging 20-23 ppg and leading a very good St. Johns team.

Hahahahaha Walton out there all hippy like. I f'ing love that guy.

I went to the Seafirst Jammin hoops camp at Mead when I was a kid and met him there. Only had my grandma and mother with me and I needed to go to the bathroom, Walton walked up and volunteered to accompany me to the boys bathroom (in a totally non creepy way lol) while I did my business.

One of the 50 greatest players in NBA history took me to the bathroom lmao

Vandy is nice. Saint Johns has a ways to go but they are shredding them. Shooters all over and a pro big man in Jones.. Tomorrows game between Indiana and Vandy will be like scrimmaging each other. Same exact makeup on both teams. Indiana guards are a little quicker. That will be a hell of a matchup

Don't see Mussini staying 4 years--I think he becomes frustrated with the quality of program and leaves early.

Vandy blowing out St Johns 46-13 with 3:39 left in the 1st half. --same st john that lost to Div 2 school in their first game.

Mussini 1 pt and 1 assist with 2 TO shooting 0-4 --just had his shot blocked in his face.

Bummer.....he needed to be at a program where he could have a year to develop/put on weight etc. as a redshirt.

Disagree. Think MUllin will build a program there. Local guy, hired Richmond on his staff which doesnt hurt recruiting and also has 1 or 2 guys from Calipari's old staff who were instrumental in recruiting. Forgot the dudes name. Mussini averaging 16 on the season. Put guys around him and he will shine brighter.

Pep up 36-21 on Duquesne @ the half. Stacy Davis 1-7, 3 pts.

Duquesne gets within 7 with 3 to go, but Pep takes care of business 84-70.

Davis winds up with 21 & 15.

UCI has a 7-6 center, not skinny either. A bit stiff, but he knows how to dunk when he gets the ball close to the rim. Swats a few shots, too.

Speaking of SCU, it's a bit surprising that Brownridge has stayed there. He's a heck of a guard, been stuck on a crappy team his whole career. I'm sure a better program would be happy to have his services.

Well Vandy won't be playing Indiana, because the Hoosiers went down to Wake 82-78 just now. Oops.

Very surprising. Wake made plays down the stretch, Indiana didnt. Better team doesnt always win.

Marquette led almost the whole way against LSU, but gave up the lead late. Recaptured the lead on a pair of FTs and LSU missed a desperation 3 just before time expired. Upset win for Marquette. Ben Simmons is really good, won't be playing college ball for long.

LSU is probably going to get more attention than they deserve this year just because they have Ben Simmons on their team.

Not that HE doesn't deserve it. 21 pts. 7 assists and 20 rebounds in the loss.

Better than good, he's a freak.

A little Magic Johnson and Lebron in him. Impressive athlete, ball skills, awareness, footwork, not to mention his god-given attributes.

If he's not the #1 pick, I dunno who is...

Will be interesting to see how Manning does as WF. Wasn't a head coach for long but had success at Tulsa. Kind of an uphill battle trying to work their way up the ACC standings. You can certainly win there, but they've been down for a while now.

11-23-2015, 05:25 PM
It's a shame that Simmons is "using" his one year at LSU. They really aren't that good without him, and it's not like he's going to be receiving top rate coaching while he's there, either.

Recruiting politics grate on me

11-23-2015, 05:28 PM
Yeah, but if he wasn't at LSU, he'd probably be yet another 5* at either Kentucky or Duke.

I suppose so. I think what has to drive Gonzaga's coaches nuts when it comes to recruiting is not when elite players chose Duke, Kansas or North Carolina. It's when elite players chose these run of the mill BCS teams who make the tournament once every five years. LSU is not the same program they were under Dale Brown. Them days are over.

Yeah, I hear ya. They seem to get plenty of talent at LSU but results have been very inconsistent over the years.

Don't look now, but Ben Howland is at Mississippi St. and recruiting well.

Tom Crean, for his annoying little habit of clasping his hands and prowling the sidelines, which has thus far not improved his coaching ability yet.

Ah. I'm also not a fan of Crean. Wonder how much longer he'll last at IU. Huge job of underachieving with a team with Oladipo, Zeller, Watford etc. that were the favorite to cut down the nets and got knocked out after the Sweet 16.

LSU destroyed themselves when they fired Dale Brown but at least Johnny is recruiting well. He was never a good X&O coach but he was a dynamite recruiter except when his bread case of cash was stolen years ago. LOL

Howland is tearing it up at Miss State but he is a former Zag so it was expected.

Very concerned about SCU Broncos.... they might actually take action and fire KK. This has to be avoided. KK is the gift that keeps giving in the WCC - we need this guy to survive the preseason.

Zagdawg

Would think a more competitive program would be a better gift to the "WCC" over an easier win.

If they have someone identified that can help "SCU" win more games-- it makes sense to pull the trigger and make it happen.

I am sure Randy can figure out a way to beat them still.
