Rivals site says he made a "solid commit" to the Zags on 10/22. Doesn't appear on roster. Haven't seen a word elsewhere. Does the player even exist? Has he shown any interest in the Zags? Vice-versa?

All just a misunderstanding, or a hoax? What gives here?

Yahoo has Gonzaga, 10/22. Alphonso Anderson (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Alphonso-Anderson-160068)

The Missoulian (http://missoulian.com/sports/college/montana/mens-basketball/montana-lands-commitment-from-oakland-guard/article_fb652429-d4c0-5fb4-8aa5-eef0c145548c.html) has Montana.

The Missoulian has Montana.

That article just has him visiting that weekend. He could've flipped I suppose.

The kid is a highly productive player for Garfield but he's hella small to be playing the 4 for a major program, always thought Montana was a good fit for him.

Won't say to no to a kid from Garfield though

He's a Tacoma kid originally. I think it was Wilson HS.
I had a chance to meet him at the Battle in Seattle two years ago (vs S. Alabama). He seemed like a very nice kid.
At the time he was a 6'6" freshman. I reported it on the board here and someone replied he was the next NBAer from Tacoma-Seattle.
It will be interesting to see how this developes.

I've seen him a few times and am impressed. Undersized for the 4, true. But a big motor and nose for the ball, and plays up in big games. (35 and 19 v Rainier Beach last yr.) Not sure he couldn't play some 3. Outplayed Thybulle in Garfield's win at Eastside Catholic that I went to last winter.

If this is true it wouldn't shock me. Zag coaches have taken under the radar players before.

Great kid, known him a long time as he played in my aau program with my son through elementary and middle school.

He was not recruited by the zags and is firmly committed to Montana, not sure how that tweet was mishandled so badly. His decision was made around his birthday a few weeks back. His options were Boise state, rice, and Montana. He will be successful there

Thanks, folks, for the info. What does this say about Rivals? Always thought Bossi was thorough, but perhaps not his colleagues. Will avoid the site until they break something accurate and of interest to us.
