Pepperdine will be better than the 91st best team in the country. I think they'll eclipse BYU and St. Mary's for second in the WCC.

They nabbed another huge recruit today, 2016, 5 star guard Markelle Fultz. Damn, that Romar can recruit. 5 years of GU vs UW is going to be fun.

from that commentary on UW

"Whoís Out:
Upshaw was leading the nation with 4.5 blocks per game when he was kicked off of the team in late January. The seven-footer was also averaging 10.9 points and 8.2 rebounds. That is a big piece of the puzzle, literally and figuratively, to lose in the middle of the season. The frontcourt also lost Shawn Kemp Jr., Jernard Jarreau and Gilles Dierickx. Kemp averaged 9.7 points per game during his senior season and Jarreau added 5.1 points and 4.7 rebounds but missed quite a bit of time with a knee injury. He is transferring closer to home and heading to Tulane. The departures on the perimeter are equally brutal. Nigel Williams-Goss spurned the NBA to transfer to Gonzaga. He averaged 15.6 points, 5.9 assists and 4.7 rebounds during his sophomore season. Losing Williams-Goss is not a huge surprise since many figured he would go to the NBA anyway, but losing him to another program will put pressure on Coach Romar to start getting results. "

But he can't coach the talent he gets. No worries, the top guys will be 1 and dones or transfers.

I happened to see probably the most telling stat from BYU's season last year at the bottom. They ranked 315th nationally in scoring defense which was also good for last in the WCC. They just flat out couldn't keep other teams from scoring. Which is fine as long as you're scoring more. But,at some point, you need to be able to get consecutive stops.

A better measure is fg% defense, which accounts for pace. They were 204th there (Zags were 22nd); not good but a lot better than 315th.

Gary Parrish reports, the NCAA is investigating, among other things, allegations of academic misconduct committed by former assistant Joe Ford within Pacific's basketball program, a source has told CBS Sports.

Gary Parrish is the one who broke the story about SDSU being investigated.

They really phoned that one in. Perkins with 5ppg? I also think it is much more like that we will see McClellan starting over Melson and Dranginis coming off the bench. I can't imagine that any other teams have a player projected in the lottery outside the starting 5.

I think those ppg are what they averaged last year.

They forgot about Alonzo Treir in this article. He was Arizona's highest rated recruit.
