My horse, Snifters Spirit, is racing at Retama Race Park (San Antonio TX) tomorrow, 9/27 in the 7th race. He is #6 of 10 and is the 3rd choice on the morning line. You can take this one to the bank, he's gonna win it. Oh, and if you have video, I'll be there, watch for me waving from the winner's circle :)

Lynette, I'm sure you noticed that the great & popular John Henry passed away yesterday. The old fella was 32 years old and still one of the most popular boarders at the Kentucky Horse Farm, which HillBillZag has had the pleasure of touring.

how'd he do, I didn't see the message in time to run to the off-track, did I screw up not betting him?

Yes, I saw the the grand John Henry died. I was heartbroken! But he lived a glorious life, one that may not soon be duplicated. What a tribute to the sport of kings!! He will live on in infamy!

Spirit, boy. If he didn't have bad racing luck, he'd have none, LOL! He was sitting against the back gate when they sprung the latch, then his jockey lost his right iron, then he struggled to get his feet underneath him (first time on the turf and had never run on it before... no, they don't let you train on it), so he was last all the way around. Made up good ground down the stratch and finished 5th, 4 lengths behind. We are entering him for Sat tomorrow and hopefully *fingers crossed* he wins that race. He should, as the last time I went down to see him, it was his first race ever, he ran 3rd, and then the next time, when I wasn't there, he won. So this will be his next race after I was there, so it should be a victory! :)

Just the horse for Rubbadub:

In tomorrow's BC Turf, 10th Race @ Monmouth

(7) Dylan Thomas.

Small side note: The poet's birthdate is 10/27.

Stormy lousy weather expected for the Jersey shore area today & tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if the track today shows any bias for the "mudders."

Have always enjoyed the Breeders' if for no other reason it usually means next year's budgets and business plans are done (they are ) AND the college hoops season is the next major landmark on the sporting horizon.

Dylan Thomas misfired as the 4/5 favorite
