View Full Version : In case Scout's recruiting rating system had any credibility left

they go and legitimately expose how awful and misguided their recruiting rating system actually is. Zach Collins rated #93 in the country? Scout is probably the worst rating website in the country and has a historically bad track record when it comes to rating recruits. This is another example of a website that dupes people into paying money for bad information. The longer you wait to commit the higher your ranking goes up because those recruits draw eyeballs. Zach Collins committed too early which didn't give him the eyeballs on their website needed to score a higher ranking as that's how they rank players not by their actual ability.

This could work in Gonzaga's favor if he becomes a really good college player. Yet again GU develops a borderline top 100 player into a star, rather than he was darn good to begin with before he ever got to Spokane. One way to spin it.

51 on ESPN... 37 on Rivals... Scout, barely making top 100.

So glad this board moved off of Scout.

If someone is dumb enough to pay for info on how HS kids are playing basketball, they deserve whatever they get.

New @scoutrecruiting top 100 sees @zcollins_33 check in at No. 93. #Zagclass16 - http://www.scout.com/college/basketball/recruiting/topic/players?type=players&category=Basketball%20Recruiting&classYear=2016&minimumInterest=Low&start=null&team=Gonzaga …

@slipperstillfit @scoutrecruiting @zcollins_33 Can't say a word about it. It's wrong and people that know.... Know.

Good chance their scouts have hardly seen him. Any 6-11 kid with anything close to Zach's skill level and fluidity is a top 50 player, minimum. There are so few of them....even in a good class.

Not to mention that he is playing for Team USA on 3x3 team with McDonald's AA candidates.

FWIW....Eric Bossi at Rivals said after watching Zach at the Adidas Gauntlet that he was under-ranked at #37 with Rivals.

Or, the conspiracy theories are true, and all they care about is subscribers, and an early commit to Gonzaga does nothing for them. Much better to bump a bunch of folks who haven't committed, or who have committed to Power conference schools who have large subscriber bases.

Agreed CDC, I truly believe he becomes our first McD AA.

Our first right outta high school. Micah and NWG were Mickey Dee's AA's.
