In early June, a film focusing on the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson will see wide release. The director, Bill Pohlad, has GU roots, tracing back to his father,

He thought about film school; his father, loving but practical, advised against it. “He said the percentage chance of success in the film business is very low,” says Pohlad, who instead studied accounting and economics at his dad’s alma mater, Gonzaga U., and worked for a while as an advertising copywriter before joining the marketing team at Marquette Bancshares, one of Carl’s companies.

The late Carl Pohlad was the owner of the Minnesota Twins from 1984 - 2009, and once attended GU:

Carl Pohlad was born on August 23, 1915, to a poor Slovak family in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines in 1934. He attended and played football for Compton Junior College in Southern California for a short time. Bing Crosby saw him play football and recruited him to play for his alma mater, Gonzaga University in Washington. Pohlad attended Gonzaga but dropped out after the football season of his senior year.

I grew up a fan of the Beach Boys so I will probably check out this effort when it plays the local octoplex. Based on Bill's work as a producer, it seems likely to hit the right notes while tackling the always contoversial saga of Brian Wilson.
