Good for him.

Took some real mental toughness to get through it all.

I can't wait to see him lead the team.

He didn't get cleared until a month after the season. What is there to approve?

I thought he already qualified for the medical redshirt from what the staff was saying in previous articles??

He does. If he was never cleared during the season he gets the medical redshirt, period.

For sure. Might take awhile, but see Angel Nunez.

Don't think it really matters. I'd be surprised if he stayed all 4 years.

Great news...just wish it was being followed by that thug from GA being charged with assault.

Assault? Maybe I'm missing the sarcasm?

A suspension and a flagrant 2 would have been nice, but...

No, it still has to be applied for, investigated, and approved. It will not be controversial b/c there is no way GU would do anything below board on the matter. But, lest a program somewhere want to play "games" with adding another year to a kids' eligibility and get a medical opinion way out of line with what most would think, the NCAA will still look over the med records, have one of their experts look them over, maybe call, and just dot "i's" and cross "t's" to ensure it is all honestly done.

Of course it is a formality, but it will still need approval, it's not self-defining, still must be granted..

While we sure would have benefited from having JP on board this year, in one way it posed a unique opportunity for both he and the team. That is he was at all the games, watched how Pangos ran the floor and had to have gotten a good feel of what role he will have to fulfill and how to do it for this team. Once the mothballs wear off he is going to really be fun to watch.

GU Basketball sure looks good for next season! I hope Josh has no ill effects from the jaw AND we don't lose anyone like that again!
