Gregg Marshall and Shaka Smart are rumored to be the top 2 candidates to replace him.

Good guy but his buyout is less than his salary........I think he's done pretty well. TX Admin is results oriented.

Texas is known to take out the checkbook - they considered taking a run at Saban.

It's a great job. But, it is and always will be, a football school.

I would think that offering Krystowiak the vault might be a good play. But, I know nothing.

I guess our pre-season opponent has likely changed.

Unconfirmed reports have placed him in the State of Texas for the last several days...

Some other potential candidates.

This job is going to attract a big timer. It's more attractive than some people might think. It's not just that Texas will splash money around. It has to do with recruiting. The state of Texas might produce more top flight prep talent than any other state. Also, unlike USC, the fact that Texas is a football school makes the basketball job more appealing. There's no way Rick Barnes would've lasted as long as he did if he had coached at a blue blood school. Texas gives you all the resources you could possibly want - money, best strength and conditioning program in the biz, limitless in state talent - but without all the pressure.

I am surprised that Larry K isn't on that list.

And, why would they think that Tony Bennett would leave UVA?

Yes! Like hitting a double in your first at-bat coming back from injury. I feel very insecure about the size of my posting presence after taking half a decade off from the boards, after all. Someone remind me why we can't add our 2002-2007 post stats? I poked through all the active White House Petitions (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/) and I didn't see anything on the topic, so I have to assume y'all aren't trying anymore.

Lol...I heard the Texas AD wants a coach that can develop players AND do handstands.

Classy presser today from Barnes.

He'll be back somewhere.
