Right now the link doesn't seem to be working on getting to the online version of the story.
Great read on Gary though! We all know most of it but a good read none-the-less.

Gary Bell Jr.’s career is winding down and the senior from Kent, Wash., reflected on his four years earlier this week. Here’s my feature on Bell that ran in today’s S-R. And here’s a glance at GU’s games this week.
More (hopefully) via the link above!
Go Gary! Go Zags!

Thanks for posting Zagger....link still not working. I sent a 'feedback' form to Spokesman.com to alert them to the broken link....hopefully it gets fixed soon.

In the meantime, I came across a link to a great radio interview with Kevin Pangos via ESPN 710 in Seattle (which may have already been posted elsewhere) for anyone who may have missed it:

Great story.

“He is one of my (all-time) favorites,” coach Mark Few said. “He’s my kind of guy. He doesn’t crave attention or need attention. He just helps you win basketball games and he’s won so many games. He’s done it with just solid, steady, tough-ass plays. That’s what he is.”

“He’s our glue guy, just so unselfish,” forward Kyle Wiltjer said. “He probably gives up shots (with) me and Byron (Wesley) coming here, but you never hear anything negative come out of his mouth. He’s the ultimate teammate. It shows the character of our program and himself.”

Nice to read that GBJ is looking to stay in Spokane. I wonder if there is another program that attracts its former players back at the clip that GU enjoys.

Exactly. Music to the ears.

Everything I wanted, what they told me, happened,” he said. “We’re in the tournament every year, I’m playing and the family aspect … I’m probably going to be in Spokane the rest of my life. My girlfriend is from here and I have a kid, so I’m tied to Spokane and that’s nice.

Yep - My take on the season and going deep in The Dance is that the Zags have a very strong desire to go deep - enough so that they're also 26-1. The experience is in place too (Gary & Kevin both GU Seniors, Byron with good all around experience in Pac and now WCC, Wiltjer having been on a championship team, Few, etc.). With the Zags more than likely earning a 1 or 2 seed = all the ingredients are there. The icing on the 'go deep' cake is the rest of the Zags (skilled + passionate).
I try not to look ahead much and my fan character has changed this year. I'm more of a 'however they do I'm in' sort of fan and I do my best to think more about tonight's game rather than anything ahead of it. But, it is darn hard not to think about March Madness (more like impossible not to think in that direction). The team can't do much thinking ahead though - as how well they do (and likely also how healthy they stay) is for them to have their heads in the game at hand. Focus.

Gary Bell Jr. is my most favorited player of the last 15 years following the Zags.
