LMU 53

Zags have their way with Loyola Marymount. It's very smooth. Zags make 10 or more three's. The Kennel is RED HOT. Students and the rest of us enjoy the game a lot. It's a rowdy crowd for awhile. Is it a full moon?

Go Zags!!!

No prediction to offer but in the other thoughts department:

As much as I respect the mental toughness it takes for our Zags to beat teams on the road, where the fans and players alike are in a near frenzied state and performing/playing at heretofore unknown heights, I gotta admit to thinking maybe I've been drinking a little too much kool-aid after last week's games vs. SCU and USF. The Zags did not give us #3 in the country worthy performances vs. inferior competition (an opinion echoed by Coach Few in his comments re: our defense was not very good).

I am hoping the Zags play stifling D, show off the crisply efficient offense they are renowned for and simply blow LMU out of the gym early. This team needs a blowout performance to re-establish their alpha WCC status and recapture some Zag swagger. I'd like to see them clicking on all cylinders and playing their best ball of the season heading into the homestretch of the season.

At least 6 Zags in double figures including Melson & Draino. Some spiffy D by EMc including a steal or two.
These Zags are just too loaded for LMU in K2. The Zags will spread the scoring around. Since D was not too hot in CA the team will be clamping down on LMU. Think we'll see a 30 point spread with LMU under 60. Zags 85 - LMU 55. Tigers leave Spokane wagging their heads and not their tails.

Good Morning! It's GAME DAY once again. The best day of the week. Smile! Even though it could be a blowout, I'll still enjoy the game. The stars of the show are just so fun to watch. I just hope the Zags can stay focused and work hard. I will certainly enjoy our Ninja shooters shooting the 3's as they shoot much better at home. And of course I'm looking to see how much better, and how much stronger and how many more minutes McClelland gets. He has been a very nice addition to this team. He's already becoming a star. The game is at 6:00 pm tonight so don't miss it.

Reborn, you are one of my favorite posters. Love your optimism, but a question: have you ever predicted the Zags to lose? Ever? Go Zags!

I don't even remember how long that I've been on GUBoards. Pretty long though. I was on this forum before it became GUBoards. I do remember that. I believe that this is the first year that I ever predicted that the Zags would go undefeated. I felt all along that this would be the best Gonzaga team up to this point. And when it comes to predicting the outcome of every game I don't think I've ever predicted that the Zags would lose. But I can only remember the last three years. I believe I've never predicted that they would lose. And I've had a pretty good record in these last three years. I'm satisfied that's for sure. Us fans have been very fortunate these last few years that's for sure. Especially those of us who drink the Kool-Aid. I guess if I had to chose one person who drinks the most Kool-Aid, or the strongest brand, that I'd say that I'm at the top of the list. I think the term originated because of how positive I have been in predicting GonZaga Wins, and how good that they are (and have been). I never minded it though because in my life I am the same way. I'm a very positive person.

I have been a strong believer in the basketball program at Gonzaga, and I believed quite strongly that it would one day reach the Final Four and one day win a national championship. It hasn't happened yet, but the best is yet to come. We continue to get closer. Maybe it will happen this year. Who knows? That's the fun of this journey. We never really know. WE just continue to hope and believe.

But, as some have pointed out, I can also be very critical at times when the Zags lose. I have been pretty critical of Mark Few at times, and Meech and David Stockton. But when I look back at all these years, my heart overflows with joy, given to me by so many great basketball players at Gonzaga who are also great men. We are a lucky group of fans, but after all, we do come from a very special university. I really don't believe that there's a better university experience, that awaits all students who go there, in the USA.

Go Zags!!!

Gameday! I can hardly wait for this game. Thursday Night hoops! I don't care of we are taking on Cal Tech University..... I love watching college basketball:

http://www.campusexplorer.com/college-advice-tips/97E3FF5B/The-Worst-College-Sports-Teams/

Caltech University has produced 31 Nobel Prize winners and has a great reputation for academic excellence. Unfortunately, the student body’s intelligence hasn’t translated to success on the court. Becoming somewhat of a novelty for its losing ways, the Cal Tech Division III basketball team lost 310 consecutive games, spanning an astounding 26 years.

The streak ended in February with a box score that looked more like something out of 1911 than 2011. Caltech beat Occidental 46-45.

Anyway, enough of that.... Lets go Bulldogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Game at a decent time on the east coast; perfect timing as the "over-rated" chorus is beginning to practice. Hope the Zags use this showcase to demonstrate their versatile and efficient offense, their ability to play stifling defense, multiple players with double digit scoring, a couple of double-doubles, newcomers shining, and Pangos having his best game ever (perhaps a double-double scoring/assists). Any of these things can happen, most already have. Having all of them happen should stiffle the chorus for a day. Then they'll respond, "against whom?" Keep winning, they'll keep whining. Who cares? There is a way to shut them up, but it's too early to speak about it. Win out, win the WCC tourney -- guarantee best Zag record ever. Then we can talk about achieving best results ever. Believe!!

Go Zags!

Zags are favored by 24 or 24.5 points, depending on the betting parlor. . .

Bulldogs: 84
Lions: 70

Last time out vs. LMU, BOX SCORE, (http://espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=400587307)4 Zags were in double figures and Dontmiss had 9 points and 8 boards in 26 minutes of action in a 72 - 55 drubbing in which LMU only shot 29% from the field. Evan Payne was absent in that first game also. I expect they will be closer to their season FG avg. of 44% tonight.

Zags need to control Egbeyemi; Mornar is also capable (he chipped in 21 points and 10 boards when the Lions beat UP a month ago) I guess I don't see LMU folding like a cheap card table this go-round.

LOL...so to summarize. We beat them by 17 on the road, the line is 24ish and we will win by only 14?

Hey, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. . .wouldn't be the first nor the last time, Vulture. Maybe they shoot 25% this time and the Zags win by 50. . .LMU has improved and Payne can be a pain.

In any event, these prediction threads are worth the same as free advice. Something to pass the time between now & tip-off.

If they crush 'em with Myron Milquetoast in the audience, perhaps he'll give the Zags some props in his next ESPN column.

I would usually agree with you Reno about the margin of victory. This time I disagree. Its not like they are at their place. Even without Payne it doesn't make much difference. Sure they might hit the 38-40% shooting, but that doesn't mean the game will be close.

But maybe I am drinking too much Kool-Aid.

:)

And that's very possible too haha

Go bulldogs!

Hey gonzagafan62! If you don't want all of your Kool-Aid please give me what you don't want. hahaha And I have to admit. I thought Renozag was a lot more serious about this prediction thread. Maybe he lost some money because of some of the predictions here on this thread. It would be interesting to know how many people do and how many don't take this thread seriously?

Have not lost money due to any of these threads, 'born. I follow the lines and put some thought into the wild arse guesses I make but it's all for amusement purposes only. As I mentioned in another thread, I don't make sportsbook wagers on the Zags. I save my gambling budget for a few NCAA tourney pools, the Triple Crown races, and the November Breeders' Cup races. Have never been very good at laying down the lettuce on the other stuff.

Hope the Lions get declawed by the Zags and GU comes out of it injury-free.

Hey Renozag? Dang! I just missed it tonight, brother. I got the 29 point spread correct though, but just missed the score. I just eeked out a win over gonzagafan62 tonight. He had the Zags by 32. There were a couple of guys, menard g krebs, snd jpn17, who missed by just one point. Over all it was a good game to predict. Easy to watch as well.

Nice work, reborn. I clearly over-analyzed things. So it goes.

By the way, I tried to answer your question re: Teams with at least 1 E8 and 5 S-16's in the same time frame as the Zags. . .see that thread for the result of my excavation.

Have a good night !
