I am sure there is an entire slate of games, but, in an interesting one:

LSU - 10
Kentucky - 2

Four minutes into the game. Kentucky second platoon in already.

I totally agree.

But, it is fun to see them struggle a bit.

3:25 to go LSU 69 - UK 66
LSU is playing pretty good ball and UK a bit sloppy on D.

Keith Hornsby playing his dad's tune; I bet Walton is watching and loving it. Best basketball song ever written, just ahead of Basketball Jones:

Walking down the sidewalk, roundball under my arm
Everybody knows how you play is who you are
Walking down the road, looking for a game or 2
The real moves come through, no matter what they're gonna do
It's down to you

Take me to the old playground
Where the old ones rule, and the young ones do their time
Take me to the old playground
Where the talk is cheap and the restless stalk the baseline

The old sage frowns, he says pass it around
but all-world junior's pulling up from downtown
For some it's a way out, for some it's a way in
Most of us don't even care
We're just looking for another gym to get in

Take me to the old playground
Where the old ones rule, and the youngones do their time
Take me to the old playground
Where some play from dreams
And the rest just play for pride

The old man said stop running with those boys
But they know what to do and their folks don't mind the noise
Say hey now, everybody's gonna get along
Just call your own foul when you break the rules
If you make it, take it, so make your move

Take me to the old playground
Where the old ones rule, and the young ones do their time
Take me to the old playground
Where the talk is cheap
And the restless stalk the baseline

And as I finish this post, Hornsby misses the game winner. But he took the big shot, as his dad would have.

I just don't see how a team beats Kentucky unless they just can't shoot that night.

They just are so big and quick and long on defense, a guy can't even see daylight, and then once a shot is up, good luck getting a rebound.

LSU played their hearts out, but it felt like Kentucky could turn on the defense and rebounding any time they wanted.

I'm glad they are undefeated. If anyone has any chance of knocking them off in the tourney, it will help to have them feel all that pressure on them.

Too bad he didn't have the range.

That's just the way it is.

LSU potential starting lineup next year:

Jarrell Martin (Jr)
Jordan Mickey (Jr)
Ben Simmons (projected #1 pick in 2016 NBA Mock Draft)
Antonio Blakeney (#1 shooting guard class of 2015)..top 2 at least. 5*****
Tim Quarterman (Jr)

Hornsby 6th man
Craig Victor (transfer available 2nd semester)

GULP...that is a roster.

I think 1 of Martin or Mickey leaves though. Probably Martin. Jones isn't that good of a coach tough with X and O's. JMHO

What do ya think???

I can't even pretend to know anything about personnel and incoming recruits. I'm getting to the outer edges of my analysis to note that Kentucky is very big, very fast, very strong and thus would be very tough to beat. I will note that it seems like totally "out of the blue" LSU gets two of the highest rated recruits in one year, something sounds a little . . . . "off"? Might be putting it charitably? To me that just screams "Big donor sick of losing."

Ben Simmons godfather is an asst coach @ LSU so that helped them. :)

Kentucky with Ulis (sp) at PG I think is a better team. It might be nice if we could get the overall #2 seed that way it could be a Kentucky vs Zags final. I think Kentucky will lose before the NCAA Tournament. That probably will just refocus them. Cauley Stein is really the glue on that team don't you think? Although Towns is maturing quickly. There is a blue print to beat Kentucky though and I bet Mark Few will get the memo/blueprint if they play. It would still be a tough match-up.

LSU got outcoached coming down the stretch there. Calipari called a great play to get Towns the ball on the block to essentially seal the win. LSU coach couldn't draw something up to save his life. Although having to deal with one of the best defenses college basketball has seen in the past 15 years probably makes it a little tougher to draw something up and execute it.

Family connection for Simmons. Blakeney hasn't signed yet. Just a verbal. Blakeney and Simmons are supposedly close though.

I thought LSU would win the game before it started. Guess I was wrong.

I watched some of it. Colorado St. couldn't miss early on. It's a rare down year for UNM. The Pit is usually a tough place to play. Not sure how far down they would finish in the WCC. Not top 4, but after that it's a whole lot of mediocre and worse and totally up for grabs.

Several teams have been a bucket or two from knocking them off. They are definitely beatable. I am not saying they will be beaten or I am rooting for it, but let's not act like they are just blowing people out and look unstoppable.
