Way too high. If I were a betting man I would take the points.

I'm ok with the line -- they lost to N. Arizona AT home. I think they are good, but not the same caliber as the Zags

Go Zags - Beat the Gaels!!

Me too. I feel your score is accurate. St. Mary's is a tough team.

Just trying to get half the money on each side so they can safely collect their 10% with no risk to them. So yeah, I guess that's fishing for suckers. SMC shoots hot from 3 and the Zags don't, they cover. Otherwise they don't, unless Karno is in foul trouble early. I wouldn't bet on either side of this line. At SMC it will be something like Zags -5 or 6 and I wouldn't bet on that one either.

It would be interesting to do a study where you compare Pomeroy to Vegas lines and only bet games when there is a difference of more than a couple of points...wonder if you could make some money.

trying to even out the action on both sides. I would be tempted to take the points. Seems high for a rivalry game.

I would probably take the Gaels and the points - and not so much because of the Gael's ability, but more because the Zags have been letting teams get back into games. I suspect that will hold true again: Large early lead for GU, then St. Mary's chips away and makes us sweat until the Zags pull away at the end by 10...

Yup.

Would you like to make a 12 pack bet on that? You get GU -15 points.

I would love to see that study, but I suspect it would be very often, especially games out of conferences that most people know little about. One can gamble on just about any D-1 game and I don't for a second believe that there is some expert down there familiar enough with the Colonial League, or whatever, to really set the number accurately as it opens, so they use a tool like that often. so they use this to open and then just adjust accordingly. Just my guess.

When I have attended the WCC tourney... I'd bet on all of the non-GU games figuring I have a good idea on who was going to win. I usually offset my losses in the slots with those bets.

Doubt it. Maybe in the short run when his ratings first went public, but at this point anything that public is incorporated into the lines (plus additional stuff like injuries/suspensions). Trying a system like that now I bet you'd still end up <52.4% in the long run.

 That was an old fashioned beat down. The Zags are still picking pieces of Saint Mary's a$$ out of their Nikes.
