Very evenly matched. Home team wins. Good game.

What I see from this comparison is a team in St Marys that hasn't really been tested by a good team yet. Yes, they are undefeated in league but look at the breakdowns. St Marys has only played 5 games all year on the road/neutral site and are 4-1 in those games. On the other hand, Gonzaga has played 11 games on the road/neutral site and are 10-1. In addition, Zags RPI is 56 spots higher than St Marys and the SOS is almost 100 spots higher. Not that I am saying that St Marys isn't a good team...I just think they are a reflection of playing 75% of their games at home versus inferior competition to us.

Two surprising things I noticed with this year's SMC team. One, I think this is one of the first games where we are facing a team that has a worse FT rate (34.9%) than us. Second, their turnover rate (almost 20%) is comparatively bad for a SMC team. Should be an interesting game. Home environment and rockin' KC should be worth a few points though.

Would you look at how juicy that scoring margin is!? Zags average 81.8 and give up 61.5. 20.3ppg scoring margin average through NINETEEN games. That is unreal.

I don't remember the last time it was nearly that high. 1999 was one of, if not THE best season they ever had for scoring margin, and it was in the 14-15ppg margin of victory if I'm remembering right.

Considering we're pretty even with the Gaels in Off. Rebounding and Free Throws (our primary weaknesses), I feel strongly that we'll kick some butt at home.
