They make Greg Heister look good. They are babbling about everything but the game and not giving basic info like who the fouls are on. They just need to shut up and let the game flow.

Yeah, they make your buddy Belluomini look like Jim McKay

Yeah. I think they are scheduling two color commentators instead of pairing one with a play by play guy.

I managed to tune them out for the most part, didn't have the volume up very high.

I like Casey Jacobsen. He was a nice player for Stanford, he is knowledgeable about GU and has a lot of respect for the program. He didn't like that foul call on Karno's block.

I had to mute them...and I've never muted Heister at his worst.

Great announcer, and he obviously respects the zags,
I agree with him that if Kentucky lost one, the polls would keep them at #1.
He pronounced us Gone zog gah 50 times in a row
then some of us wrote to Root Sports, and WWC about it
and in Pepperdine game and tonight he pronounced us correctly 50 times in a row.
Nothing wrong with politely letting people know how you like your name pronounced.

I didn't find them to be that bad. I agree as many games on TV as possible please. But, when one of them said that DD was the best Basketball Zag of all time, I laughed out loud. Didn't John Stockton make it to the HoF?

That one made me cringe too, Spike.

How about when Casey said "Maybe they like all that RAIN better in Spokane rather than the sun in LA."

I'd rather listen to those guys than the Bay Area homers Tompkins, Kuiper and Belluomini.

Dickau was a much better Zag than Stockon. Much. They weren't talking NBA.

It is debatable who was better. But there's no way Dickau was MUCH better.
Dan was a 1st team AA but in 1984, there was in chance for a player from GU to get that honor.

Here are there senior seasons.

Dickau played 2 years. That gets him in the "also receiving votes" category.

I have found the best way for "pronunciation dopes" to get it is to say.........They can't be the ZOGS because everyone knows they are the ZAGS........some how they seem to understand when put that way.

On another note, I'm sure others noticed on the Ute/Zona game when Coach Sean Miller was interviewed at half time he said something to the effect........This is the best team we have played this year, then hesitated and added "except Gonzaga".

No doubt. Even without saying a word. Actually the young lady was quite good, even if her reports were derivative.

Derivative? I thought they were integral.

She played volleyball at USC. I'm used to seeing her on Pac 12 Network during volleyball matches, but she pops up other places obviously.

I concur that the TV announcers were below par.

As I often do, I muted the TV and went to KGA 1510 ........................ qualitative, objective, and good insights from Matt.

Announcing a TV game in a truly entertaining and well-prepared and competent fashion is becoming a disappearing art. Appears to me that the OP is citing another illustrative example

I'm not so sure about that....

Okay, not 'much' but better. If Dickau had played 4 years instead of 2 it might have been much. Of course, it would have been nice to see what numbers Stockton would have amassed if he had the teammates that Dickau has beside him.

Nice to see Wilson crying with relief that the Seahawk defense and special teams kept him from being one of the most massive goats in playoff history.
