Oh wow, as if I didn't have enough reason to cheer against Duke.

And Miami continues to lead, up 12(?) with 8 minutes left.

Miami up 14 with 6 left.

Zags would have the longest home streak if Duke loses.

P.S. Miami is ranked lower than SMC and BYU per Pomeroy.

Which the country will not process.

They will think "Miami - BCS school, a top seed a few years ago, solid team."

If we go in and beat SMC (or beat them on our home floor), they'll think "Soft"

Seemed like a nice kid in the interview after the game. I don't think we would have wanted to play them tonight. Miami was focused and tough. Rebounded like crazy, and got lots of steals.

The site I've used for reference (http://warrennolan.com/basketball/2015/stats) since the NCAA site seems to not be updated anymore has 34. I believe that is counting the WSU game at the Spokane Arena this year though.

By my hand counts, there were 10 in 2012-13 after the Illinois loss, 15 last season, 8 so far this year (if including WSU at the Arena, that would be 9).

Miami (and Rodriguez) can be frustrating to watch as a fan. Wins over Florida and Illinois followed by losing at home by 30 to E. Kentucky but then almost beating UVa in 2OT. Rodriguez seems to disappear at times versus lesser opponents but thrives in the big games. Hope we can win enough "lesser" ACC games to make the tourney. But I'll take a win @ Dook any day! Lucky the Zags keep me sane(ish) with stability and consistency. I think the Zags would beat Miami 9 times out of 10. But that one time would be a blowout win for Miami.

Last news release prior to the Bronco game Saturday:

"GU will be defending its 33-game home winning streak, the second-longest current streak in the nation behind Duke’s 41-gamer."

Add the Saturday win brings it to 34.

I really think it does change the dynamic. It was sort of the accepted storyline "Kentucky and Duke" - as in two set apart from the rest, and others have noted here it was like their were only 2 actual No.1 seeds available. I think one just opened up.

that might be their first win without their best player drmic...really too bad as i think they had a chance to make the ncaa's this year...on a side note, just makes zona's loss to unlv look worse...unlv a very average team.

Duke is having the same problem it had last year. Their guards can't guard dribble penetration.

That team also lacks depth.

not exactly a strong suit of the zags, so would still prefer to avoid duke as long as possible...coach k likes to pressure the perimeter, so for teams capable of it they can be beat off the dribble.

Ouch.

That sort of puts some things in perspective. I would love to just go 3-1 through that.

Also shows why going through a different conference might help when a team gets in the tournament.

Just take a look at the Big 12:

Iowa State has No. 17 WVU (played today), No. 22 Baylor, and No. 9 Kansas coming up.

Kansas has No. 24 OSU (played today), No. 11 ISU, No. 18 OU, and No. 20 UT coming up.

Kansas State will have No. 22 BU, No. 11 ISU, No. 24 OSU, No. 16 WVU, and No. 9 KU coming up.

TCU has No. 20 UT, No. 16 WVU, No. 9 KU, No. 11 ISU, No. 22 BU, No. 18 OU, No. 20 UT, and No. 24 OSU coming up.

Eh, everyone knows we're the champs of the Big 12. What're we? 8-1 or something in the last 2 years. :) And I'm not counting kicking Texas around every year. :

I was thinking the same thing while watching them play OSU...feel confident in saying that we would be kicking their behinds this year and next year too...too much size and depth...they don't have strong PG and we have three...

Would like to see a neutral site game with them next year...BIS would be nice and follow-up playing in KC...

Think the only teams to whom we have lost are Texas Tech (twice) and OU...

Heck, let's just ask Coach Few to schedule a single game next year at KU...that would be a GREAT win...
