Some terrific games today. I'd say the most important ones to me are:
St. John's @ Seton Hall St John's has worked their way up in the polls to #15, and just today were #11 in RPI ranking and just ahead of Arizona. This is their first really big game on the Road and their first conference game on the road. Watch it on FXS1 (219 on Direct TV) at 9 am this morning.

Georgia @ Kansas St is also huge for me because they've really worked their way up in the RPI ranking. They are #17 today. This will be a tough road game for them. Watch it on ESPNU at 1 pm

Other very good games:
Penn St (12-1) @ Wisconsin (12-1) Watch it on BTN (chanel 610 Direct TV) at 10 am
Butler @ #6 Villanova watch it on FXS1 at 11:30 pm
South Florida at SMU...SMU was at #51 in RPI ranking this morning, and I believe #50 in BPI ranking watch it on ESPN2 at 2 pm
Boise St @ Colorado St This is a huge game in their conference. Kind of like us opening up conference play with BYU. not on TV but the game is at 6 pm
Temple @ UCONN watch it on ESPN2 @10 am
There are other games that you can add.

The Pirates didn't miss Whitehead's production against the Black Bears but the Red Storm is a different story.

Big East has some good games this weekend, including Seton Hall vs. 'nova on Saturday, 9:00 AM PST.

Thanks for the list of games, Reborn.

Hit a 3 in last 5 second to take the lead to 5.

Will be very tough to come back on the road.

Let's hope.

Yes, it sure is, isn't it?

A big road win like this would really settle in their top 15 bona fides, which really solidifies GU's "Big Win" portion of their schedule.

iT'S NOT a bad loss, on the road and a good game. Seton Hall played pretty good. I was impressed overall. It's tough to win on the Road. That's been a problem with the Johnnies. Most of their OOC games have been either at home or MSG. It makes us feel even better about all the victories that Gonzaga has had on the road.

Hall has lost to every good team they've played besides StJ. This may not look like a bad loss now, but it will in a couple months. Johnnies will lose quite a few games.

18 - 12 (Georgia on top) with 3 mins to play in the first half. Unless this thing gets kicked it into high gear, this game appears to be a flagrant display of physics relating to ball vs. iron. I don't mean to seem too broken up about it, I'm just flapping my jaw.

Lots of people are saying that. Pretty much every analyst at ESPN, CBS, etc. KenPom has the Big 12 rated as the best league, too, with the ACC second.

Seems like the ACC is stronger at the top, but softer at the bottom. Big 12's pretty good top to bottom, but maybe doesn't have a team as good as Duke or Virginia.

That's what I was thinking too. But looking at the two conferences, I see a bloated ACC with a lot of talented teams in the top half, and the Big 12 looks a little less powerful, but more lean and mean.

I don't believe Kansas will roll again, for that reason. I see a 13-0 TCU team that isn't ranked, and is top 100 or top 30 in RPI/BPI, about 6 teams that are ranked in the top 25 in the AP with one or two losses -- a whole lot of teams in the Big 12 could find themselves in a great position to play for the Big 12 title.

At the end of the day, though, the ACC looks more like the conference of champions, with Louisville, Duke, and Virginia.

It depends on how you look at it.

The Big 12 has the most balance by far. It has the most amount of good teams. The league is currently 101-20 in games played through yesterday. Kansas State might be the worst team in the league, but they are still 7-5 and almost knocked off Arizona.

The problem with the ACC is that for every Duke there is a Boston College. For every Louisville there is a Virginia Tech. There are a number of destinations in that league that the elite teams can count on as an easy win. Not so in the Big 12. Kansas will be sweating bullets when they play at Kansas State. Even the game at TCU isn't a gimme this year. They may have not played any good teams, but they are still 13-0. They are better than they usually are.

Texas is going to get a lot better once they get Isaiah Taylor back at point guard. I still contend that if he had played in the Kentucky game, that contest would've gone down to the final minutes.

Just a horrible charge call on UGA allowing K-state to take the lead on the next 3.

UGA had the ball up two and going up the floor, K-State guy essentially runs with him to the point of pushing the UGA dribbler over and gets a charge.

about as bad a call as I've seen in a while and one that is sure to have a direct impact on the game.

Anyone else find that as horrible? Shifting momentum, too.

UGA 41 - 42 Kansas State

K-State just hit their first 3-pointer (their 11th attempt) to take the lead after a UGA offensive foul.

Not a call I would have made, for sure. Definitely a big impact on the game. That possession could have been UGA going up 4 or 5 points, instead they're down 1.

I look at it similar to this, the eye test. I have seen almost all of these teams play (including Kansas State against LBSU)

Duke - Played Big Time opponents Michigan State, Wisconsin, UCONN, Stanford won them all.
Virginia - Played Solid Opponents GW, Maryland, VCU, Harvard, Davidson --- Won them all
Louisville - Minnesota, Ohio State, Indiana, Long Beach State, Western Kentucky, Kentucky.... Won all but Kentucky game
North Carolina- Played a lot of big time opponents, yet only beat Ohio State
Notre Dame - Lost to Providence, but beat Michigan State
Pittsburgh - Beat nobody of significance
Syracuse - Beat Long Beach State and Iowa, but lost 4 other big games
NC State lost 4 big games, beat Tennessee, Boise State, Richmond

Big XII

TCU: Can you call any of their wins significant? Swept Mississippi schools, Washington State? They might get left out if on the bubble.
West Virginia: Beat NC State, lost to LSU beat VT, and UCONN. Not bad.
Iowa State is a mean team, Beat Alabama, lost to Maryland, beat Arkansas and Iowa. Pretty good.
Baylor lost to Illinois but beat New Mexico State, SFA, and Memphis. Nothing impressive here.
Texas: Lost to Kentucky, and Stanford. Beat Iowa, UCONN, LBSU, Cal. Not bad.
Kansas lots of big wins, head scratcher against Temple.
Oklahoma: Lost to Creighton, Washington, and Wisconsin. Couple decent wins (UCLA, Missouri, Butler)

Overall, its closer than what I thought. Ill still give edge slightly to ACC. But your right its not as big of a gap as I probably suspected.

Georgia about to shoot 2 free throws, up two points already. 5.9 seconds remain.

K-State's Gipson is out with 5 fouls. That may seal it...

UGA win.

Well, 1-2 today on decent wins for our previous games.

Seems like we got the better one, too. UGA will have fewer chances to make statement games than SJU. Having UGA creep up would be as unexpected as having South Texas.

Pretty good. Selfish thought is wishing that SJU won, too. Could have gone 2-0, or 0-2, 1-2 with the less likely winning seems good enough.
