The consensus is that Kentucky will not go unbeaten but this is not the day.

BTW: at 9:57 am PST, ESPN 2 just said they will preview the Zag- BYU game in the next few minutes.

From the Preview at 10:00 am.

They did Few Mic'd up, practice, working on defense, dictating where the Defense wants the player to go.

Then to the analysis:

Mark Few universally liked among coaches, "good guy" and this is real contender.
It's a contender b/c it has no holes, but especially because they now have Sabonis that brings a "nasty" factor underneath that may have been missing.
Few has each player buying in b/c he is a "players' coach."
What is a players' coach? It is a coach that will adjust his style to the teams strengths and not try to mold the team to a set style. Few will ask players what they see, what they think will work.
BYU - not the team they want to present in the opening. Injuries.
BYU must score, but can they overcome injuries.....

I realize that none of that is genius insight or anything we didn't know. Just provided it b/c most wouldn't have TV on at exactly the right time.

L ville keeping it close. UK is long, lean and doesn't mind a super physical game. As long as they aren't called for over the back, pushing off with the leading arm, carrying the dribble etc., they probably will go undefeated. If the game was called according to the rules, not so much.

Nice to see Kentucky with its hands full. Louisville has to make those shots and keep driving in for fouls.

The Kentucky Louisville game reminds me of our game with Arizona. Will the wildcats have the will to hold on in a ferocious road environment? I hope not go 'ville.

Does Louisville have a McConnell to will the team forward? It's tough for Harrell 'cause he doesn't handle the ball.

Looks like Kentucky with that dagger from 3. The Cards need at least 4 stops. Tough.

Kentucky will only lose if they completely phone in a game or there are intra-squad squabbles that start tearing them apart.

I could see them taking a middle of the pack SEC team, hopefully Georgia, for granted like the Buffalo and Colgate games. They'll probably be better for it come tournament time.

For me, the Kentucky / Louisville game is a prime example of what basketball SHOULDN'T BE. It's not basketball, it's a variant of football. It doesn't take talent to foul on every possession. But the ref's know that it's coming so they let it go. I'll laugh my butt off if they end up getting called for those fouls come tournament time.

Broncos kept it close in the first half. St Mary's running away with it in the second. Brownridge and Clark cannot buy a basket for Santa Clara.

Bill Grier has been on the hot seat for 3 years. USD is going to get him fired for sure if they keep fooling round like that at home. That is a bad loss.

Portland is a solid team that will hang a few "bad losses" on a good number of WCC teams this year.

It's just a matter of time for Billy--he is losing 3 of his top 4 scorers this year to graduation---not too much more time in sunny San Diego.
