    Priest on Bench

I can't tell from watching on TV if we have a priest on the bench this year. I noticed St Joseph did. From my perspective I have always liked the idea. Any insight on this?

Bump. I don't know but am interested. Good post.

I didn't see one at the SMU game from where I was.

I believe it had been Fr. Hightower in recent years, but I think I heard that he was moved last year. Not sure if they have a new chaplain.

They had a new guy last year, after Hightower was transferred. (I can't remember his name, but you can check my Maui thread from last year to find it.)

There has not been a priest on the bench this year that I have seen.

Fr Jack Bentz, S.J. was the team chaplain last year.

Thanks. I went to my Maui thread and found it, but you were faster than I was.

                Fr. Bentz to Boise

Fr. Jack Bentz went to Boise State to run the Newman Center there.

I have been wondering if they will find a Jesuit soon to be chaplain. Unfortunately the Jesuits do not have a deep bench at GU right now. The job realistically calls for a younger guy and they don't have many in the right age group.

Yes he is! I still remember him giving me a Sacajawea dollar randomly. I wish I spent more time with him when I was there. He was the chaplain of my dorm.
