St Joe's is 1-1 and averaging about 53 ppg. So they must be playing very, very slow. We'll see if Gonzaga can push the ball and speed up the game. St. Joe's is not real tall, but not real small either. They go 6' 8", 6' 6", and 6' 6". The 6' 8" player is not their main inside player. They are pretty young, with two freshmen and two sophomores among the top seven players who get significant playing time. One Freshman and two Sophomores start. Their win was against Drexel.

Originally I thought that St. Joe's might be a lot better, but it looks like a rebuilding year to me.

Ill never underestimate a St. Joes team. Ever. I thought we were going to trounce them when we went to Philly five or so years ago. It was a nail biter.

Since its in the Kennel, I do fully expect to win this game, but I don't think Gonzaga will just blow them out, they will have control most of the game however. Pull away late.

Should be fun, can't wait. Looking forward to seeing this team play some more. Love the frosh.

Yeah! I'd definitely call that rebuilding.

I thought the Zags would be a little sloppier in the SMU game - so was pleasantly surprised that they played as well as they did this early in the season. Hoping to just get smoother and smoother each game...

No disrespect to coach Martelli and the team from Philly, but they are going to get a beat down in this scrimmage.

I guessed the Zags would score 73 vs SMU, they scored 72.

I'm thinking. . .

Zags 74
Hawks 58

St Joe's will SLOW down the pace, junk it up, run the shot clock, pass the rock to keep GU off-balance and away from up offense.

Say, does St Joe's have a message board? Looked far and wide, yet only came across a premium board. Anything?

Zags; 84
Not Zags: 60

They try to slow it up, good 3 pt shooting bumps the score anyway.

We continue our streak to hold teams to 60 or under

RPI for St. Joe's is 154. If we win, I hope they start winning a lot. They certainly did not look good in their other two games.

I have great respect for Coach Martelli and their program and for their willingness to come to the Kennel and play...I hope they have a good time...

I also remember them winning here but....no chance this time.

I remember watching St. Joe's play Syracuse a few years back and thinking "the zone" was going stop them dead in their tracks. Much to my surprise, St. Joe's womped Syracuse and I've never underestimated them since. I hope I'm overestimating their ability this year and we run up 90 points on them.

Pretty much everyone but Pangos was off from 3 last game. So...I could see some of the guys goin off...

St. Joe's will come to play though, and you can never underestimate them. Sure, they may be picked to finish near the bottom of the A10, but the A10 is a great conference. I'd say they would finish in the top 3ish of the WCC, so they deserve some respect.

Hope any overconfidence reflected by slacking or sloppiness is promptly rewarded by a counseling session on the bench. Zags have the depth, and tougher opponents await soon. Zags need to prepare for those, and against the annual "playing down to the competition" on one or two road conference games late in the season. Anyone who watched the heavyweights yesterday realized that the later we face those teams in the Dance, the better. Zero to two (good) losses on the season equals #1 seed, and it would be great to have another chance at that entering the NCAA tournament.

You're welcome RenoZag. It is fun. It's kind of challenging as well to try to figure each game out. There's a lot more to it then guessing I think, and for others it's really hilarious and a good laugh.

I can't wait till you put out one for the St. Thomas Aquinas College one. Trying to figure out that score will be rather difficult, and I am not being a smart aleck either.

Two most likely outcomes:

1. Zags have a letdown and bad shooting night after running away from a ranked team 48 hours ago, playing back and forth for three-quarters of the game before finally holding on to win by 8-10 points. Zags win 74-64.

2. Zags feel a new urgency and are motivated to another level after seeing the Kentucky game last night, realizing they are light years ahead of us. Zags hit the court with focus and intensity, winning 90-55.

I think you're right. If there are some who are slacking a bit, they will be invited to sit down and enjoy watching someone busting their butt, trying to earn some playing time. there will not be much drop-off. This team may end up playing itself as much as anyone this year. Everyone trying to prove themselves.

I'm thinking Wiltjer, Wesley and Karnowski carry the scoring load this game with them outscoring St Joe's themselves. Of course, other guys score too. So I'm thinking about 90-53. That's no disrespect to their program, but as eluded to, I think our fellas saw Kentucky the other night and see the need to crank it up a notch.

statistically St Joes is off to a terrible, terrible start this season. 200+ in several categories, and only averaging 55ppg. This does not bode well for them.

I'll dock us 10 points off average, and give St Joes 5 points because I'm feeling charitable. Final score:

Bulldogs - 78
We Used to Have Jameer Nelsons - 60

I'm sticking to my 90+ for the Zags .... Why? Passing, Guard Experience/Expertise, D/Rebounding & Zag Shooting %. StJ will try to slow things down and it may work a bit at first but there's no way they'll slow down a great passing team for long as they'll just wear themselves out trying. The only other option StJ will have is just plain lolly-gagging around with the ball which will only hurt their own scoring chances. I suppose StJ could resort to fouling to slow things up but that is a dead end too (they'd have too many good players on the bench). I expect to see the Zags make a few steals tonight unless StJ can really handle the ball well.

The Zags get even scoring from both first and second units, I could see Nunez really getting a chance to stay in and get some good burn.

Perhaps Perkins, Sabonis, Nunez and Dranginis may all get in double figures.

Some awesome dunks may be seen in Spokane tonight.....
