According to Meehan's story, Bell and Pangos are healthy and ready to play. This is good news and puts to rest any concerns over Bell not participating in the team run up Perry hill as an indication that he is still hurt (at least I hope it does).

GO ZAGS

Seems that Coach hasn't decided on the 3 spot yet either. Good stuff from Meehan.

That was a nice morning gift.

Sounds like they're hungry, which is silly of me to say b/c I am sure they are every year. Still, sounds good.

And Few is letting it rip a bit. Mentioning that those frosh might be starting any other year...

Oh, and that picture, the two of them sitting in the chairs? That is exactly what you don't want to be looking at if you're a frosh playing "me-ball" - you don't want to be called to that meeting.

That was Meehan's take. Reading between the lines, IMO, Few essentially said that Pangos and Bell were the starters, the rest are up in the air.

Injury chatter is distracting from our core mission, which is to predict outcomes of future GU BB games. GU and the NCAA should require teams to announce injuries 48 hours before each game. The NFL does a great service to the wagering public in this regard. Spending hard-earned dollars to bet on a GU BB game where a player has a 'secret injury' is both unfair and frustrating.

Go Bulldogs!

I liked hearing this from Coach Few..I underlined my two favorite quotes: (http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2014/oct/08/zags-success-rests-on-health-of-kevin-pangos-gary/:
Few said high expectations accompany every season. The 16-year head coach likes the look of his roster.

“We’re really deep,” he said, “to the point that we’re two deep at every spot.”

Four starting spots would seem to be secure with Pangos, Bell, Karnowski and Wiltjer, who sat out last season after transferring from Kentucky. The talented Sabonis will challenge for front-court minutes. USC transfer Byron Wesley, junior Kyle Dranginis and eventually Vanderbilt transfer Eric McClellan, who becomes eligible in December, are candidates at the ‘3.’

“I wouldn’t pencil in all of those guys just yet,” Few said. “There’s pretty good competition at all those spots.”

Sounds like the Zags are planning to play a deep bench and rest key guys, like Pangos and Bell.

I'm dreaming of a matchup between the two deepest teams in the NCAA this season, Kentucky vs Gonzaga, in an Elite Eight game or thereafter!

No mention of Edwards or Alberts. Soooooooooo, does this confirm that Edwards gets his wish to redshirt and that maybe Alberts is heading to a redshirt year as well?

Darnay Tripp & Krem2 posted an article last night about the Zags during yesterday's media day (https://twitter.com/DarnayTripp/status/519695366514417666). I tried to read the whole thing, but couldn't view it when I later wanted to come back to it. Darnay says Krem2 just had a web site overhaul & that the article will get reposted in the coming days. This quote was a part of the story:

Few & Pangos complimentary of the frosh, among them Bryan Alberts. KP said they're making fewer mistakes than he did.

Don't know if that means that Alberts will be playing this season, but as of last month, Alberts said that he'll spend a bit of time on the bench: https://twitter.com/bryan_a_alberts/status/509926630282629120
