Everyone talks primarily about Ammo from that year and all the improvements he made from his sophomore to junior season, but look at that statline from J.P. Batista, who was awarded Honorable Mention All-American that year, too. With Ronny on the roster the previous year, J.P. slipped in at the 4, but after taking over the center position and gaining all those extra touches, Batista killed it.... and he ended his GU career just shy of that 1,000 point barrier after only playing at GU for 2 years. Batista also is the closest any Zag in the modern era has come to breaking the top 10 list for rebounds in a single season at GU.

And in a larger scoring role in the following year, Derek Raivio was awarded Honorable Mention All-American.

That 2006 team was just so fun to watch. Remember the Michigan State triple overtime game? wow. The 98-99, 05-06, and 12-13 teams are going to be real hard to vote against.

In my top 3 favorite games of all time.... and I am 100% sure that the game took 2-3 years off of my life, due to the stress it put me in.

            IMO it boils down to:
            2006 Batista > 2008 Kuso
            2006 Morrison > 2008 Heytvelt

            Would Pendo guard Daye?

              I would assume so.

at first glimpse that seemed like a mismatch favoring Daye. I bet Pendo could have given him fits though with his physical play.

Agreed - Pendo was the king of beasting guys that were more "athletic"

06 came close to going very deep...very deep. UCLA loss should not have happened.
One of the greatest stories in basketball history...Gonzaga!

Another landslide, 2005-2006 J.P. Batista 19.3 Pts, Adam Morrison 28.1 Pts. The last time I saw 2 players score like that in a season was Gathers and Kimble.

I guess 2006 owns this game.
