open for Rotnei. I seem to remember something about the weekend of the 7th for his visit. Look sharp we need spotters.

on official visits for basketball activity?

Is no basketball activity allowed, anything goes, or something in between?

Gonzaga is showing its strength as a national recruiting power in the class of 2008. The West Coast Conference school already has a pledge from Iowa native Grant Gibbs. The Heartland is sending Oklahoma native Rotnei Clarke to Spokane for an official visit for the weekend. The four-star shooter will be joined by four-star junior Jared Cunningham from California this weekend

Interesting combining the visits. Intended to show that we can get other guys here too?

As great as it would be to get Rotnei I think I'd be even more ecstatic if Jared committed this weekend. What a great way to start off the 09 class! Hopefully Mr. Clarke and Mr. Cunningham really connect and we get two outstanding players this weekend.

The Cunningham visit is coming sooner than I expected. Given that this is an unofficial visit (he's a 2009 kid), I thought he might come up for the Wazzu game or something. He's currently ranked at #56 in Scout.com's top 100 list for 2009.

The video indicates lots to like about Rotnei's game. . . Strong upper body which he can use in traffic (remind you of anyone?) . . . His shot needs no space and he makes it with people in his face . . . It's going to be a great weekend.

Those of us going to the Alumni event on campus at K2 tomorrow afternoon need to keep our eyes especially pealed for sightings of Rotnei & Jared.

I imagine with Santangelo & some of the other BB alumni that will be present at the event, R & J may not be too far behind :D

Beautiful September weather with azure skies await young Mr. Clarke. To answer a question above: recruits on official visits can play pick-up games, hang out with players and coaches, go off campus, basically do what they want... Unofficial visits the coaches can only have contact with the recruit while on campus. However, the recruit can go off campus with the players.

Don't let Brock know you said that... :p

after watching that video for like the 20th time the passion that stands out is something that alot of recruits just dont have these days and something that would make him a great zag. Good luck to Rotnei in his decision

Nice. Looks like he's got a quick release and a high release point. Shouldn't have any trouble getting his shot off in D1.
