The PGA can call the Fedex Cup "Playoffs" all they want but if a participant can skip one of the four playoff events and still come out as the ultimate winner, then they really aren't playoffs at all. . .

Yesterday's action was compelling to watch if you're a golf fan. But the next two weeks will see the PGA get killed in the ratings as the NFL returns to the stage.

I wonder what Phil wanted the PGA to tweek about the playoff system?

I don't even have a clue what's he would be referring to.

He's never been fond of mandatory Pro-Ams. . .

Phil played in a corporate outing in the Chicago area today. Does that mean he was outed.

As I see it, the Fed Ex Cup is four tournaments in a row with strong fields. The Barclay's and The Deutche Bank were both exciting tournaments.
No matter who wins the Cup, TW is the POY. Five wins, including one major, two World Golf events, and the Wachovia. He is the leading $$$ winner in the fewest events. He would have won yesterday if he could have made a few putts.

Bob Harig's Take (http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/columns/story?columnist=harig_bob&id=3004352)

Whether it's family obligations, too much golf in the last two months, not enough time for corporate commitments, having to play in the pre-tournament pro-am, annoyance over the FedEx bonus money being deferred compensation rather than cash, or simply wanting to watch his hometown San Diego Chargers open the NFL season at home on Sunday against the Chicago Bears, nobody really knows.
