I once went to a Stanford/Cal game at Cal several years ago when Monty was coaching the Cardinal. Cal upset them. During the court storm, several Cal students starting beating on some of the Stanford players. It was downright scary because there wasn't enough security to control the situation. They eventually got the Stanford guys off the floor. Not sure if anyone got injured.

Perhaps storming the court should be banned...its overplayed anymore as it is...

The player lost his cool and will pay the price.

The fans who got involved are pathetic. It's just a game.

(That's my take of watching a 30 second video)

I agree. However, that's easy for us to say seeing as our court hasn't been stormed in like 20 years. The idea is mostly played out.

Something like that was bound to happen.

It's at best chaotic w/ players spread out all over the court and suddenly dozens or hundreds of fans streaming onto the floor from every direction. Definitely a security nightmare. Maybe only surprising there aren't more incidents like this?

The SEC a few years ago started fining schools who allowed their fans to storm the floor. Something like $25,000 per incident. At the time some people felt it was a joke and that guilty schools would be happy to write the check, but it has apparently almost eliminated court storming on SEC courts.

Very tired of the storming the court thing.

Yea what happens if player knocks out fan? Will the player be at fault if attacked?

One of the scariest court stormings ever....Duke at NC State last season:

Pretty easy solution. Since virtually every court storming is when the home team upsets the higher rated visitors, institute a policy of the game becoming forfeit. No win for the home team. It would stop it real quickly, excepting for when a WCC team upsets the Zags on their home court and the Zag fans storm the court, resulting in the home team losing afterall!

I remember when the whole thing was cool. Anymore, it's all the time and has really been dangerous. I agree, it's really getting to the point it's overplayed..as I said earlier.
