I notice alot of college basketball courts are having neat designs on their court such as Memphis skyline, Oregon ducks have those trees, didn't San Francisco used to have design of the golden gate bridge on their court (maybe they still have that design) etc etc. it seems like those types of courts are putting a design that has something to do with the region of the college. Would anybody else think it would be cool if the zags put a design on their court at the kennel of the Spokane river falls that they show during every TV timeout on Espn when they broadcast a game from Spokane. I have always loved those images they show on those commercial breaks of the spokane river falls. Thought that might look cool on the homecourt. Am I alone on that idea. If u think its dumb that's fair enough I was just sharing a thought.
I have a question

I do really love the shot of the falls they show when taking media time outs and such, though.

I hear ya about Oregons court, I hate the way that looks. I thought Memphis court looked really cool tonight. I cant recall Baylors court off the top of my head. I always loved the Golden Gate Bridge design on San Fransisco home court. I think those shots of the Spokane river falls at media time outs are some of the best I see of any broadcast

To be honest, the Memphis court tonight didn't seem that bad. My only beef comes with the possibility of interfering with the second-nature of playing within a given set of markings. Taking a space marked in very purposeful fashion and adding extra design to it seems like a bad decision to me, but I do understand the desire to do so -- it's the most precious real-estate for advertisement or branding in a basketball game. We all look directly at it for two hours.

Baylor's court with the basketball for the free-throw circle is even a little too cheesy for me. I tend to be more about function than form, and basketball courts are no exception. I think striking color contrasts in the right places and a good choice of the color of the wood finish can make or break the design, and I don't think I'd ever vote for extra graphics on the court if I were asked.
