Gonzaga is only 1-1 against teams (Kansas State & BYU) currently listed in Lunardi's field and is sitting at the 2nd best #7 seed. Our matchup @ Memphis this week will be huge for the Zags' resume.

At least 5 of our opponents are on the cusp of being in the field: West Virginia, Saint Mary's, Arkansas, Dayton, New Mexico State

Realistically, I see West Virginia as the only one of those with a chance at an at-large bid, as they have been coming on strong as of late. I see New Mexico State getting in the NCAA tourney, but only as an auto bid... and Bryant looks poised enough to maybe win their conference tourney, too.

I think we could win out and still get in the Spokane pod. BEAT PORTLAND!

I think that ship has sailed. We'd have to be within striking distance of the top 16ish teams, and I just don't see that happening.

I think that if Gonzaga wins out, they will be in the Spokane pod. In fact, I bet the number crunchers could back this up with some sort of fact based info sheet. But like most of us,I think it is pretty unlikely they do win out. I'd put the +\- at 2.5 losses for the rest of the season.

Winning out would include a win against Memphis, so yeah, I'd say we're definitely top 16 if we run the table. However, I certainly wouldn't place any bets on that occurring.

We don't have to be a top 4 seed to play in Spokane. A top 4 seed would basically guarantee it though.

I agree. I don't think we have to be a top 4 seed to get Spokane. We all always point to Davidson when they got sent to Raleigh - Durham.

The 2004 team received a number two seed besides just having one quality win (a top 50 RPI win) all year.

Two of Gonzaga's losses this year came when their second leading scorer (Dower vs. KSU) and their third leading scorer (Bell vs. Portland - who is also their best defender as well) were missing. Both games were competitive despite the injuries, and both were road games.

I think Gonzaga has an opportunity to get higher than a 6 or 7 seed if they keep winning. Even if they lose at Memphis.

And FWIW, they lost in Maui with Shem & Sam fouled out early when the rules were being interpreted a lot differently.

In essence, just keep winning games.

ESPN's BPI sure didn't factor in how Sam Dower couldn't play for over half of the Kansas State game: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/bpi/_/id/2250/year/2014

How strange is it to have FIVE Pac 12 teams tied for fourth place, including the Beavers, Arizona State, Stanford, Washington, and Colorado? NCAA experts like Lunardi must have a lot of trouble figuring out who will get to the Tournament.

Go Bulldogs!

31-3 has a nice sound to it. I still think it will be 29-5.

Did not see this posted any where. Jerry Palm weighs in on his 2/3 bracketology. Way to calm down my Spokane site dreams Jerry. Really? Ouch! I don't know what's worse: the seed or the location!

I'd take that seed. UCLA, cinci, creighton? Easy road to the e8.
