I cannot conceive how that many people want to shell out for tickets that must have brutal views. I realize they're like GU in that they are their pro-team (literally, sometimes) and I get the huge following, but more than 20,000? 15,000 of them willing to sit high in a corner of a dome? Wow.

Yeah, just out of curiosity I went to google images and did "Syracuse dome basketball" and there were lots of pictures from seats way up in the far corners and it wasn't quite as bad as I thought - I recommend doing it, kinda cool - you can see, but like football from far away and I guess the idea is to be in the building to feel the energy.

Edit to add: I wonder how much money has to be donated to be able to buy those seats that are just 5 rows up in the middle section away from Boehiem?

Was wondering about the puzzle piece lapel pins ; found this on the web:

Autism Awareness (http://www.herald-dispatch.com/sports/x238620754/Coaches-wearing-lapel-pins-to-raise-autism-awareness)

Maybe people will notice many college men's basketball coaches wearing blue lapel pins Saturday in televised games and ask what it means.

That's the reaction Marshall Thundering Herd head coach Tom Herrion wants.

Herrion and his close friend, Towson University head coach Pat Skerry teamed up to sponsor Autism Awareness Day. Herrion and Skerry are fathers of autistic sons -- Robert Herrion, 8, and Owen Skerry, 4.

They purchased 200 puzzle piece-shaped lapel pins promoting autism awareness from Autism Speaks Inc., and sent them to colleagues around the nation.

Reponse was unbelievable, Herrion said.

"There's a saying, 'Autism Speaks,' " Herrion said. "Well, college basketball coaches are listening."

He got this year b/c of coming on strong last year. Just one game after obliterating 3\2nd place, 5 game win streak SMC, coming closer than anyone in years to beating the Zags at home - - it's too bad, b/c his team this year is right there, maybe they get a piece of us at home, maybe make some noise in the tournament, I hope so b/c it seems like it's real hard to win there. Have no idea why, I've seen that campus and facilities.

Horrible news following the Arizona loss tonight. It appears as though Zona big man Brandon Ashley broke his foot. Done for the year. Sean Miller doesn't play more than 7 guys, and the strength of that team is its frontcourt. Bad night for Zona in more ways than one.

The Cal students almost cost their team a win when they stormed the floor after Cobbs hit that shot with .9 on the clock. Refs could've called a technical. And then when they stormed again when it went final, some idiot jumped up on the basket and sat on the rim like it was a recliner. Those rims are not meant to withstand that much weight for a long period of time. I hope the basket didn't shatter to pieces with all those students underneath it.

One of a few rare times i was rooting for Duke to win a game. Guess I wanted the #1 undefeated team to go down.
T.J. Fair and J Parker were awesome (Parker will be #1 pick this year). There must have been at least 5 future NBA first rounders on the floor.
Can't wait for the rematch.

i agree. i think the students should absolutely enjoy the moment. when it comes right down to it, there are very very few college students out there that are "accustomed" to beating #1 (including every GU alum). given that you only get ~4 yrs to go to games as a student, your odds arent great of seeing this type of win in person - even if you are a student @ a school that has relatively many of these types of victories. for reference, the team that sits at #10 all time in most wins over #1 only has 7 - all time

maybe i'll change my tune if fans start costing their team games in this type of situation, but i cant recall it at the moment.

yeah, i figured that. i was just saying that pretty much everyone is unaccustomed to what went down, and its really easy to get caught up in that moment. when the ball goes through at .9, i can see how the students might think that was it and storm the court, and it only really takes a few to get it started. in any case, i'll change my tune when it starts costing games, which i hope it never does.
