"When Pangos doesn’t play well/is blanked by he defense, the Zags’ tend to struggle. When he is on, the Bulldogs are awfully tough to beat. Their offense needs him to get his shots to fall, because he impacts most of their offensive success."
...
"Pinkins and Karnowski will be what I will be watching. Karnowski simply had to put up his hands in December and took care of Kruize. Kruize was absolutely lost, but since Spokane he has become a force for the Dons. What will be even more enteraining is when Pinkins hits the bench, I believe Walters will send in Tao Xu to defend Karnowski. Tao may not be used often, but he actually played decent against Erik Mika."

Here is another interesting article from the Lexington Herald:

"A year ago at this time, Gonzaga was headed toward a No. 1 ranking in the AP Top 25.

This year, with a nearly identical record, the Zags are not even on the poll.

Gonzaga is 19-3 overall. Last year after 22 games, a Zags team lead by Kelly Olynyk and Elias Harris was 20-2.

Pangos = hurt. Dont know why people dont credit that he is still taking it to teams while injured. Unfortunate because I dont think he'll be in the running for WCC Player of the Year either.

I think the OOC schedule/results have something to do with it as well as the fact that WCC, while improved at the bottom seems to be weaker at top vis-a-vis other conferences. Lastly, a lot of games/wins to date have been at home or neutral venues.

On somewhat related note, is this the first time that Zags WBB has outranked the MBB? I can't remember that happening before. Asked this question on the WBB Board but didn't see an answer.

The Dongs can only drool at what this program has done in 15 years. Hallucinating an outcome or some crazy scenarios by which they win a title is futile. It'll only get worse next year. Dong Central is aptly named for their fearless leader.

Abe---you almost sound a bit biased against the 4 posters that take time to post at dons central.

Must be a story there.

Hooter, you're right, he isn't getting the credit he deserves. Part of it is that he's set the bar so high and part of it is that there have been just a handful of games that he's just been taken right out of the game altogether.

I beg to differ.....he may not be getting the credit of his importance from fans...but one look at each of the wcc game plans clearly indicates the respect he has from opposing coaches....can almost guarantee that he is the first topic with lots of details in each scouting report

nah.........I don't ever see who posts there..haven't even looked in years. But the big dong says lots of things about others on this board ( our mods) and about the team. Something I cannot abide. The BIG DONG makes up stores and post them on Dong Central under multiple names..as if credibility will somehow soar. People copy and paste things and send them over.........most of their board seemed to be fine....a big majority. Big Dong...ie Mr Dong Central is a dishonest sissy in my opinion.

Abe, let's be careful here. They did win a national championship 900 years ago and dammit if I'm not going to let you forget that! Dong Central probably played on that team (or so he would
Have us believe) and at the very least a small modicum of respect is warranted.

All in all that place is ####show. Dc, his numerous other handles and the other 6 posters should be ashamed.
