BYU Post Game Thoughts

While the Coug fan boards melt down over the officiating, I liked what GU brought to the table. First half was Stocks half, no question. How they let Kevin get open looks is beyond me quite honestly as the entire WCC keys on him these days. Really happy to see him get his points back up there.

Bell had a good game back although until he starts, I wont consider him back 100%. An argument could be made for KD earning the starting spot over Bell even before the hand injury though.

Dower had one rebound. Coming off of his fourth career double double as a 5th year senior I shouldnt be expecting more but one rebound?

Karno still is roller coastering. Still a force when hes on.

Hawes is a class act.

Good win. Important win for taking the WCC and for team building.

Game was really intense in second half with BYU not giving up and fighting a good fight. Sure glad KP was feelin it tonight, it was a scrum second half. We won the scramble jamble

BYU can't possibly complain about the refs

I cannot imagine what BYU could complain about. They got an awful lot of calls go their way, especially on PK and Sam, and they still lost.


The fouls were 17 GU, 16 BYU. They had 21 free throws awarded and we had 12.

I was in the MAC. The refs helped keep BYU in the game tonight.

I asked my wife what she thought about how Tyler Haws looked. She said she didn't know. I told her I thought he must have done his mission time on Arrakis. She said I was mean.

Early on in the season the whistles were out of control. I was fearful our game of basketball was going to become boring just watching free throws all night and games lasting another hour. Now, both tonight and in Portland it was a free for all and the whistles were swallowed ...a lot. What happened to the new "no contact" rules and nutty whistles act? Something changed clearly...What??

The boys did well tonight and the Kennel club brought it.

Kyle and Gary played some good defense on Matt.

BYU has challenges with big depth.

When was the last time we went 100% from FT line?

Haws can shoot --he got his --he had some difficult shots drop with the boys playing some good defense.

First half of the conference schedule down--now the tough half coming up.

Michaelson mentioned how well the Kennel club did also----I guess you had to be there to witness it. I thought they did well also.
