    Melson dunk contest

Pretty sure Melson is in yellow shoes or guy at the very end.

      Wow. He's got ups.

I had to watch it a couple time to zero in on the yellow shoes, and then slowed it way down, his head passes just under the cylinder in one of them. He's not at Angel level, but not far.

Lots of complimentary things about Melson on this board. Looks like he is putting up monster numbers and is definitely one of the best players in Oregon. To the people that have had a chance to see him play...what are his weaknesses? I see his is ranked 150 in the class (3 stars) on the Rivals site. What is holding him back from being a top 50 type kid?

Please no "oh, because he committed to Gonzaga and don't you realize all the recruiting sites hate Gonzaga" type comments. We've had top 50-100 guys before.

He also scored 32 in the game against Rainier Beach who is top 10 in the country. Melson just hasn't been seen enough imo to be ranked higher. I'd say he's easily top 75.

very similar to gb2...bell's got some more meat on his bones but melson is a tad more athletic...hopefully he'll be more aggressive than bell is at the offensive end when he suits up for the zags. in certain aspects, it's almost as if bell has regressed from high school.

I don't see the comparison Walla. I think Melson is bigger, much more athletic and better offensively. Bell is a better defender and shooter.

Definitely closer to 6'4". Definitely underrated. Personally, it think he will turn out to be as good, or better than Perkins.

definitely not bigger...a little taller, yes, but bell has 20 pounds on him even though he's shorter...don't think most people realize how thick bell is...his strength allows him to d up guys like haws even with the height disadvantage. most people don't realize just how physical d1 ball is and how much strength and bulk can help.

better offensively? i hope so, but don't know how much you watched bell in high school, but he was every bit the scorer that melson is now...he's regressed in his offensive versatility and i have a feeling that is on both bell and few combined. hopefully that extra bit of athleticism and height will allow melson to continue to develop when he's at gonzaga. melson isn't MUCH more athletic than bell...i've seen bell throw down similar dunks back in high school.

He must have grown a couple inches since July then.
